Joe Flacco named Super Bowl MVP

After a long night and a postseason for the record books, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco emerged as Super Bowl XLVII MVP.
Flacco had three touchdowns in the first half against the San Francisco 49ers for an impressive 11-touchdown, zero-interception playoff performance. Flacco finished 22-for-33 for 287 in Sunday’s 34-31 win over the 49ers.
As the New Jersey native stood at the podium hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy, it must have felt like justice for many Ravens fans. Flacco never gained the type of respect many quarterbacks around him received – even though he had been to the playoffs every year he has been in the league.
But the Ravens always lost to powerhouses, including a Peyton Manning-led Indianapolis team, the New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
This time, Flacco led the Ravens past Indianapolis; Manning’s new team, the Denver Broncos; and the New England Patriots. Then in the Super Bowl, when most of the attention was focused on emerging 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, Flacco played better – hitting his targets and leading the Ravens’ offensive attack.
Flacco has never been more celebrated. His card values should follow suit, with the underrated quarterback now a champion.

Manning,My man Brady.and then Kaepernick.Very deserving SB MVP.C’mon people start praising this man.No one saw this man winning.one of the best postseason run for a QB ever in my opinion,and I’m a PATS fan.
Sorry. In the football card world, Flacco is extremely boring and safe. His cards are never going to reach Brady/Rodgers/Manning level, even if he wins another SB. Baltimore is one of the worst fanbases for cards as well, which also hurts his value.
I mean look at someone like Brees – same situation – SB win, tons of records, yet his cards are worth nowhere near what people think they should be.
Part of the issue is Flacco was a rookie in 2008 when there were so many auto’d RCs out there. The supply/demand is also at play. Where those 3 I mentioned before don’t have nearly as many RCs out there.
He won’t reach the level of Brady, Peyton, or Rodgers because he’s not the player any of those guys are. He did however start the new year priced less than guys like Matt Ryan, that probably won’t be the case by week’s end. I’d guess most of his items will double. As you said though the market he plays in will definitely hurt his card prices, just as it has with Brees.
Where if the 49ers won Kaepernick would have probably jumped into the Roethlisberger range, in part because of the national fan base the Niners have. Even in defeat he’ll probably sit somewhere around RGIII going into next year.
Talk about no love, what about Jacoby Jones? 2 amazing touchdown plays. C’mon give the guy a bone.

Sorry to say but in a few weeks he will be put on the back burner, and the media will go back to there bread and butter stars, The guy is a very good QB, he mite even win one more, the Media was never going to hype this guy, look at Manning it took how many years for his championship, but the media never gave up on him, Big Ben it happen for him quick, but he does not seem to get the praise as much, a little more so than Flacco, but not as much as say Manning even though he has more rings, its the Media, if there’s nothing in it for them they will not build it up, i guess Bal is boring, unless they want to find a bad Guy like Detroit, come on Shu is’nt as bad as the media says, he just got caught on film and they had a field day with it.
