Jason Bartlett, World Series hero

The Tampa Bay Rays let down plenty of people with their loss (albeit close) in Game 1 of the World Series on Wednesday night.

But there is a hero.

Rays SS Jason Bartlett.

Why? His fifth-inning stolen base earned anyone in America who wants one a free taco from Taco Bell.

How do you claim it? Just make a run for the border between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. next Tuesday (Oct. 28). It’s that simple.

If you’re hungry to begin a Bartlett card collection, start with one of his 32 rookie cards from 2004.

His best card comes from the Leaf Limited set, which is autographed and limited to only 99 copies. It’s $15.

Can’t find one? Don’t worry — you can take that Taco Bell savings and (for the less than the price of an additional taco) pick up his 2004 SP Prospects rookie card. It’s worth $1.50.

In case you’re wondering, last year’s star in this promotion was Jacoby “Tacoby” Ellsbury of the Boston Red Sox. And we all know what happened to his rookie cards last fall. (It had to be the taco. I swear.)
