Interview: Ken Goldin Previews Season 3 of King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch

There’s nothing else like it on TV and much of that has to do with the star of the show – Ken Goldin. The Netflix series King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch is an exciting look behind the scenes of the collecting world following the CEO of Goldin Auctions as he navigates through various collecting niches bringing top dollar to those who consign with him.
The show is so enthralling. Even if one is not an avid collector, the idea of having that one item in the back of the closet or tucked away in the attic that could be worth thousands or millions of dollars captivates us all.
Season 3 of King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch premieres on Netflix on December 23.
Interview
How much fun did you have filming Season 3 of King of Collectibles?
Goldin: “Season 3 – I always enjoy filming. It was great to film Season 3. It is different than the first two seasons, especially for collectors. For serious collectors in the hobby, watch the show, you will really enjoy this show. It has more interest and excitement.

“A lot of stuff happened. I get the call about the (T206 Honus) Wagner (baseball) card while we were filming. It happened in real time. You don’t typically get that; not on the biggest thing since I opened the company. I was a producer this year. I was able to help pick and choose the items featured on the show. I picked what we included and what stories we worked on. Everyone will be happy with it.”
You mentioned one item already, what are some of the other items Goldin put on auction this season that will amaze collectors?
Goldin: “I will say, the Wagner is incredible – the story of a lifetime. There is something else that rivals it, two others actually, in this series. One is a game-used item and the other is a card.”
How has your new partnership with eBay (May 2024) helped the “Kenaissance?”
Goldin: (Laughs) “It is great from the standpoint, since maybe two weeks ago, anyone with an eBay ID can log into Goldin to see all the items we have up for auction. Right now, only a portion can be seen but eventually everything on Goldin will be viewed on eBay.
“The special marketing that we do, you want to get that experience and be seen by the 10 million or so that shop on eBay. We still have the protections against fraud that we do, just you have eBay helping. You can’t just bid on a $50,000 item. You will have to be qualified. You can’t have $8 in your bank account and bid on an item. Cosigners need to know they will get paid.”
Last season the pop culture market was your focus, what was your focus in Season 3?
Goldin: “It is still expansion – global expansion. This season we go to Japan. We are going after other lines of memorabilia. There is something in the preview about our Hollywood auction and our prop auction. Your readers will know, we bought a prop company (Studio Auctions).”
You continue to set a high bar for yourself and your team, what is the goal for you and Goldin Auctions in 2026?
Goldin: “For me, I would say, the items that we moved into, become dominating players in that market. We had our first Rock ‘N Roll auction. I want to make sure we are the leader in the trading card and TCG market.
“Pokémon is exploding. We are launching an auction in January – Vintage cards as well; we are about to announce that auction. The Wanger is anchoring our most incredible auction to date. We will continue to take care of collectors and be the best at what we do.”
Anything you’d like to share with our readers before we wrap?
Goldin: “For everyone, this is important – I want a Season 4. On December 23, go to Netflix and watch all six episodes. Watch the show and complete the series. We get graded on that. Let it run and watch it again. We want to get in the top 10. NFL football is coming – we want to keep doing this. We want to show everyone why we do what we do.”
