Cincinnati’s Homer Bailey no-hits Pirates

Homer painted a masterpiece against the Pirates Friday night.
While not quite perfect — the Reds had one error and he walked one — Homer Bailey did breeze through the game, winning 1-0 in Pittsburgh to up his season record to 13-10 and giving some collectors reason to examine his 2004 Rookie Cards.
He’s the 15th pitcher in Reds history to throw a no-no and it’s the first for the franchise since 1988.
Bailey appears on 544 cards valued at more than $2,600, according to Beckett.com. (Need a checklist or OPG? Click here.) He has 259 different certified autographs and just 13 game-used memorabilia cards, while 441 of his cards, or 81 percent, are serial-numbered.
Bailey’s most-valuable Rookie Card is his 2004 SP Prospects card, a signed card limited to just 400 copies that typically sold for $25 or less before the news. His cheapest RC is his 2004 Topps Traded card, which checks in at just 75 cents.
The most-popular first-year card of the former first-rounder from LaGrange, Texas, is his 2004 Bowman Chrome Draft Gold Refractor, a certified autograph limited to just 50 serial-numbered copies that typically sold for $120 or less.

Cool I live in Cincy and hopefully it stirs some more interest in his cards which haven’t been selling for much lately. GO REDS!!!
There’s likely to be a short-term bump in interest, but not likely for any extended duration given his record.
I was at the game. It was no masterpiece. A hit Barmes had should have been a hit but was ruled otherwise.
We here in the burgh suffer every year with the bucs, so why shold this year be different?

You posted to just dig at me and my city. All I was asking was some peace at the ball game. I do not pay to hear reds fans calling our pitcher faggot. i could tell you many more stories, but why waste time. AJ if you read this, let me know cause you are our best pitcher.
I pride myself in never being rude or a red neck. I come from the city. There are no red necks around me. I have been to many games, gone to other towns to see games, but the fans from Cinci are by far the second rudest fans I have encountered. The rudest, no offence to other citizens are the Philly fans. Been to football and baseball games, many of them.
