Hockey has strong presence at the National

By Stephen Laroche | Beckett Hockey Editor

For hockey collectors, the National Sports Collectors Convention can be a great opportunity to pick up a few bargains and there are plenty of rare and obscure pieces of memorabilia to be found on the floor. Whether it is the latest release from Upper Deck or Leaf Trading Cards, a vintage publication or game-used jersey, there is potentially something for everyone.

While hockey does not have the presence that baseball and football do at the National, Chicago is a strong hockey town in the wake of a Stanley Cup victory and several former Blackhawks signed on Wednesday before most of the Miracle On Ice team made an appearance the following day. The Upper Deck and Leaf corporate booths have seen plenty of hobbyists breaking boxes in order to receive redemption cards.

Want to take a peek at some of the hockey items that were available at the National? Read on after the jump.
