Released in November of 2023, The Lost Caverns of Ixalan was the 98th expansion of Magic. The release takes players to the Underground World, and a return to Ixalan after the March of the Machine. The card art takes players on the journey where merfolk, pirates, and vampires await past caves to the center of Ixalan where the sun, Chimil, is key to power.
A release of 291 cards with 92 uncommons, 64 rares, 22 mythic rares, and five basic lands brings the game to life. Some of the cool art included bringing back neon ink highlighted in the Cavern of Souls. Pictured, the Special Guest Mana Crypt was released in six different neon ink variations.
Special guest cards, reprints from their original set, are marked for players and collectors by origin and number.
The 2023 The Lost Caverns of Ixalan Special Guests Foil #17 Mana Crypt has different variations including Borderless M, #17a Neon Ink Borderless Alt Art M, #17b, #17c, #17d, #17e, and #17f.
The raw value of the #17d ranges from $100 to $1,2500 mint. Per the Beckett Online Price Guide, eight have been graded; one 9.5, six 10 Pristine, and one 10 Black Label. Graded values, the BGS 9.5 Gem Mint is posted online for $9,995.
