With each release, Panini seemingly cooks up something special for their customers coming in hot on retail shelves. In the 2021-22 Immaculate Collection set, hobbyists got to chase Rookie Patch Autographs Logoman cards. The drops were 1-of-1 number 101 to 140. The future stars then are making their impact now with card prices reflecting their success on the court.

Jalen Green, Evan Mobley, Scottie Barnes, Jalen Suggs, Josh Giddey, Jonathan Kuminga, Franz Wagner, Davion Mitchell, Ziaire Williams, and even undrafted Austin Reaves (118) were part of the release. And of course, the No. 1 overall pick that year, Cade Cunningham (6-6, 220).

A five-star recruit out of Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.) playing with teammates Scottie Barnes and Day’Ron Sharpe, Cunningham followed his assistant coaching brother Cannen to Oklahoma State. The 2020 National High School Player of the Year earned Big 12 Freshman of the Year and was a consensus first team All-American in 2021 with the Cowboys.

Cunningham lived up to the hype of being the top overall pick, scoring 17.4 points per game earning first team NBA All-Rookie honors. Since the 2021-22 campaign, Cunningham’s scoring averages have gone up and the winning ways are finding the Pistons again. Mired in five consecutive losing seasons, the Pistons jumped from a 14-win squad in 2023-24 to 44 in 2024-25 claiming the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference Playoffs.

No longer a runover team, the Pistons are stretching out the New York Knicks in the first round of the playoffs holding on Tuesday night to a 106-103 win. The Pistons can tie the series 3-3 with a win Thursday night in Little Caesars Arena.

Helping holders of Cunningham cards, the NBA All-Star is averaging 25.4 points, 8.8 assists, 8.6 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game in the playoffs.

On the hobby end of the 2021-22 Immaculate Collection Rookie Patch Autographs Logoman #122 Cade Cunningham Mint 9, 10 AU, the card sold in December of 2024 for $57,000, $69,540 with the buyer’s premium, at Golden Auctions.

For that 2021 draft class, the Rookie of the Year voting selected Scottie Barnes (Raptors) over Cade Cunningham and Evan Mobley (Cavaliers).
