The hype out of Akron, Ohio, in 2003 may not have done LeBron James justice. Predicted to be the next all-everything in the NBA, James has been all of that and more. As important as the 21-time NBA All-Star has been to the game of basketball, King James has been equally meaningful to the sports card industry.

An autograph of a beloved athlete always raises the value of a sports card. Add one of the GOATS of the game into the hobby mix, big bucks are swapped when dealing with James cards, especially a rookie card.

Upper Deck featured 28 athletes in their 2003-04 Signature Edition Rookie Inkorporated line with 100 cards produced per player. Some of the valuable cards from the release include Chris Bosh, Carmelo Anthony, and Dwayne Wade. But none draw the monetary value of James’.

Even in poor condition, a 2003-04 SP Signature Edition Rookie Inkorporated #LJ LeBron James is valued at $1,000. Have a mint version for sale, $25,000 could be headed your way.

Of the 100 James cards produced, Beckett has graded 65 awarding four 7.5s, two 8s, eight 8.5s, 21 Mint 9s, and six 10 Pristine. A BGS Black Label has not been awarded for this card yet.

The four-time NBA Champion and four-time Finals MVP along with his No. 3 seeded Los Angeles Lakers squad open the 2025 NBA Playoffs against sixth seeded Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday, April 19, at 8:30 p.m. ET with the game nationally televised on ABC.
