Goodwin poster sells for $115,271 in Lelands auction
Lelands.com‘s June catalog auction totaled nearly $2 million in items sold during the weekend led by an 1889 Goodwin & Co. advertising poster that topped $115,000.
The poster sold for $115,271. It’s an advertisement for the Goodwin Round Album, which features Hall of Fames Cap Anson and John Montgomery Ward.
A Jackie Robinson game-used bat, which came from his widow, Rachel, sold for $86,165, while a Chicago Bears jersey worn by Walter Payton in his final regular season game went for $53,502.
Other highlights included $27,754 for Roberto Clemente’s signed 1955 rookie contract and several championship ring sales. Those included $22,690 for a Larry Brown ring from Super Bowl XXX, $30,200 for a Michael Carter ring from Super Bowl XXIV, $27,455 for an Anthony Jones ring from Super Bowl XXII, $20,627 for a Guy LeFleur ring from the 1976 Stanley Cup champs, $24,959 for a Boston Red Sox 2007 World Series ring and $22,108 for Sparky Adams 1931 World Series ring.
