The newest arc of Pokémon Horizons, titled Wonder Voyage, premieres in Japan on May 22 – that’s next week. And if the promotional key visuals are any indication, this arc is loaded with Legendary Pokémon that collectors and investors should be paying close attention to right now.

Koraidon, Miraidon, and Ogerpon are all front and center in the official art that has been released to the public. And there is a mysterious new character named Navi, whose Ditto sits at the very heart of the arc’s storyline, that is generating buzz online.

Also dropping on May 22 along with Wonder Voyage – Pokémon Mega Evolution Chaos Rising.

Whether that’s coincidence or coordinated marketing, the result is the same, there’s a lot of hype converging on one date, and the window to get ahead of it is closing fast.

We’ve seen this play out before – anime spotlight equals price spike. The question is whether you get in on the action before the episode airs or after everyone else already figured it out.

Here are five cards worth grabbing before Wonder Voyage goes live.

Five Must-Own Pokémon Cards to Buy Now

Koraidon ex #247 (Scarlet & Violet Base Set, Special Illustration Rare)

Koraidon ex has never really left the TCG conversation, it’s been a competitive staple since Scarlet & Violet (SV) launched, but its prices have softened as the meta shifted.

With Koraidon confirmed front and center in the Wonder Voyage key visual, a fresh wave of casual interest could tighten supply.

The Special Illustration Rare has room to run if anime hype drives demand from collectors who didn’t bite the first time around.

Check current market prices and keep an eye on how it moves heading into Thursday.

Miraidon ex #244 Special Illustration Rare (Scarlet & Violet Base Set, Special Illustration Rare)

Where Koraidon goes, Miraidon follows. These two are practically attached at the hip in the anime’s promotional material, and that’s likely to hold true throughout Wonder Voyage.

Miraidon ex’s SIR version is one of the better-looking full-art treatments in the entire Scarlet & Violet era, and it’s exactly the kind of card casual buyers zero in on when they decide to grab a piece of whatever they just watched on screen.

Teal Mask Ogerpon ex #211 (Twilight Masquerade, Special Illustration Rare)

This is the sleeper on the list. Ogerpon sits right alongside Koraidon and Miraidon in the Wonder Voyage art.

The Special Illustration Rare from Twilight Masquerade is a genuinely gorgeous card that hasn’t gotten the same mainstream collector’s attention as the SV box legendaries.

If Ogerpon gets a meaningful story role in this arc, expect that to change quickly. This is your buy-low opportunity of the bunch.

Ditto #GG22 (Crown Zenith, Galarian Gallery)

Ditto doesn’t always get its moment in the spotlight, but Wonder Voyage might change that. The new character Navi is introduced alongside a Ditto from an airship, and that Ditto is literally the centerpiece of the arc’s key visual.

Any time a Pokémon gets that kind of promotional placement, collectors take notice. The Galarian Gallery Ditto from Crown Zenith is the standout high-art version.

It’s been sitting quietly in the Sword & Shield era, overlooked by most SV-era collectors, which means there’s room for growth.

Mega Greninja ex (Chaos Rising)

This recommendation is a little more speculative. Chaos Rising drops on May 22, the same day Wonder Voyage premieres, and Mega Greninja ex is the headlining card.

Greninja has always been one of the most popular Pokémon among anime fans, and if Wonder Voyage leans into the Kalos connections that Chaos Rising is built around, you could see crossover demand.
