Five Players Who Could Get Hot In Week 3

Here are five players who should could get hot in Week 3 of the NFL season.

Frank Gore, RB, Bills

Frank the Tank. The Ageless Wonder. Gore is still chugging along at age 36. The NFL’s fourth-leading career rusher started the season in Buffalo in a crowded backfield. Injuries have made the backfield less crowded. Gore is as fresh as a (very) old running back can be. Buffalo will rely on its running game (aided by Josh Allen, too) to control the ball and keep possession. We will be reminded of Gore’s greatness in Week 3.

Sony Michel, RB, Patriots

Michel, again, figures to be used as a tone-setter and clock-killer. New England is expected to win easily, which is the right kind of game for the running back to eat up yards and notch a few scores. Throw in the fact that the Jets have injuries on defense, it’s an easy decision. Don’t overthink it.

Larry Fitzgerald, WR, Cardinals

Another ageless wonder. A new coach, new quarterback and new offense has re-energized the veteran receiver. Playing from the slot, Fitzgerald is among the top-10 in targets in the league. The Panthers struggled against Chris Godwin in Week 2. Expect more of the same in Week 3.

Marquise Brown, WR, Ravens

Another simple one. The Ravens are playing the Chiefs, who do not have the strongest defense. This game is also going to be high scoring. Brown is the best big-play threat on the Ravens. They will need some more blockbuster plays from Hollywood Brown.

Jameis Winston, QB, Buccaneers

This is a make-or-break game for Winston, fantasy-wise. He has been up-and-down this season, not surprisingly. But the Giants give up nearly 300 passing yards and almost 30 fantasy points to quarterbacks per game. If Winston can’t put together a good game this week, he probably not worth having on your roster. But a good performance will put him on the right track for the rest of the season.
