First look: 2015 Topps Supreme baseball cards

By Chris Olds | Beckett Baseball Editor

September will be a Supreme time of year.

Why? Because Topps revealed the next edition of Topps Supreme on Wednesday and the hit-based product’s 2015 edition will arrive in September with potentially more punch than ever in its brief history.

Each pack of 2015 Topps Supreme will include just two cards — both autographs — and there will be 20 packs per case. The company promises “bigger and bolder cards with more 1/1 unique hits and colossal pulls that collectors have come to love with the Supreme brand.”

There are three new options for collectors to chase in this one — Primary Pieces Autograph Relics, Touch of the Game booklets and Supreme Scope auto Relic books. The Primary cards will have a mix of past and present players with jumbo swatches and signatures on every card, while Touch cards will have a piece of a batting glove showcased. The Scope cards will have three panels showing off jumbo swatches — they also will have a patch parallel limited to just one copy per player.

Autographed Relics will be numbered to only 25 copies, while Red patch parallels will be limited to five and a Supreme patch version will be a 1/1.

The standard autographs will be a combination of on-card ink and stickers with past and present players signing on here. Each card will have five parallels — Green (TBD), Orange (/25), Red (/5) and 1/1 Supreme and printing plates to chase.

Simply Supreme autos will spotlight strong action photos as part of the design with the same rainbow of parallels made in the same quantities. Supreme Styling autographs will be found one per case with an acetate stock. They will have a Red (/5) and 1/1 Supreme parallel.

A preliminary checklist was not released.

How thick are cards going to get??? Feel like I’m going to start stacking those book cards just like the books on my shelve.

Feel like calling everything a hit in a box is causing some kind of new addiction. Forget base cards they’re worthless. So everyone is just ripping through 80% of the product to get to the 2 or 3 autos and 2 worthless “event worn” patch cards.
