Going out with an ultra high-end bang, 2015 Topps Diamond Football bring collectors plenty of limited autograph and patch cards from the game’s best stars and rookies. It’s also their last product before Panini becomes the lone producer of NFL cards.

Cards utilize refractor foil technology and each one is sequentially numbered. Every autograph is on-card each single-pack box contains three premium cards.

Diamond Autographs are seeded at least once per pack and the roster is set to include the best rookies along with veterans and retired players. The basic version (/10) sees the players sign with silver ink. The Blue Diamond parallel (/5) has metallic blue ink while the Gold Diamond cards are signed in gold ink and are one-of-ones. There is also a one-of-one Gold Inscription edition.

Topps also paired up players for the double-sided Dual Diamond Autographs and the base version is numbered to 10 with a Gold Diamond parallel (one-of-one).

The second card in the pack comes in two distinct varieties combining autographs and patches. Diamond Autograph Patches focus on established talents and have large multi-color patches from game-used jerseys while Rookie Autograph Jumbo Patches use prime pieces from jerseys worn at the 2015 NFLPA Rookie Premiere. All of these cards are numbered and have Blue Diamond, Violet Diamond (/25), Green Diamond (/10), Gold Diamond (1/1), and Gold Inscription (1/1) parallels. The Rookie Autograph Jumbo Patches will also have a one-of-one Gold Nike Swoosh version.

When it comes to the final card in the pack, Topps has noted that it is either be an additional Diamond Autograph, Diamond Autograph Patch or Rookie Autograph Patch. Some of the latter hits can come in the form of a Dual Rookie Autograph Jumbo Patch Book. Numbered to 10, the pairings focus on the best freshmen. A Gold one-of-one parallel exists as well.

Do we really need yet another super high end product?
It makes me wonder just what is going to happen long term in the hobby.
These products, especially with their poor return for cost, are not helping.
Part of the joy was you had people trying to figure out who the next star was and it was affordable.
The 80’s over production and the modern day overpriced cards have not helped encourage people
    to keep collecting.
How is it that so many sports seem more popular than ever yet my favorite card store is closing? smh

Over it. Another $400 box with less than 10 cards. They think we are suckers. No more!!!

Box after Box. With nothing more then dead cardboard filling up empty room somewhere. Promises of high value cards, but with floods of so many parallel singles, it’s no wonder so many people chase. What I have learned is, and with Ebay around, I can save loads of cash, if I just purchase that 1 card I was hoping to pull.

What a joke looks like Topps Fire which looked awful. There’s a real problem when you can’t even name all the products from one company for one sport!!!! Just makes me even more stricter with buying anything, because I know the value long term and short term will not be there.

I wonder how this is hurting the local card shops as they have to buy cases of these things incase costumers may want a box only to have them lose half there value in a month when the next product dump comes out.

The card shops are the real losers because they are the ones that are holding on to these things and taking the loss. No wonder why manufactures are producing nonstop because they’re not holding any risk. It cost pennies to make these cards and then fill them with massive amounts of junk autos and just a few goods ones to trick collectors into buying.

Anyone that doesn’t think the hobby is in a death spiral is either working in the industry or just crazy. As for me I’m going to buy more vintage stuff atleast they have holding value and more Leaf products. Atleast it’s owned by a true collector instead of a CEO reporting to it’s shareholders of how they are increasing the bottom line.

Give it a break… If you don’t like it don’t buy the product. I think they are good looking cards. Does anyone have any better brand ideas

Didn’t anyone ever teach you that if you don’t have any thing nice to say then don’t say anything? I mean…if you don’t like the like the product or products, just don’t buy them. No need to whine how the industry is “tricking” you into buying! I can admit that have, in hine sight, waisted alot of money over the years on the next big product, but nobody ever “tricked” me! As a collector I know the risks and for me personally, it’s all about the chase! And further more, I can’t wait to get my hands on the new Diamond product, they look hot!!!!!

Love high-end products……. let’s shoot for a $1,000.00 a pack cards- with-how about 3 cards per pack. Let’s throw in some common player autos, and let’s have them illegible. Yeah- now that’s how to destroy the hobby card companies! Until collectors start “collecting” again, instead of “investing” on trading cards, these companies will continue to run wild with pricing.

I was discussing the hobby not to long ago with a shop owner I’ve known for 20 years. We don’t see youthful collectors anymore. Us vintage buyers wonder who will take up the baton when we sell later in our 60’s and 70’s. When collecting became about the inserts, the hobby was doomed. At a dollar a pack, it was still fun to see what you got. At 10.00-200.00, it’s not to fun because the lack of value. 200.00 in vintage cards isn’t better, necessarily, because of the stableness, but 200.00 in 1956 Topps cards can get you a nice array of players that have sustained value at your entry point. A 200.00 box or pack gets you a low numbered auto of a common that values at 10-20 and sells for 3-5. Definitely a tough choice, 200.00 gamble for a 1000.00 hit or 200.00 on cards with sustained value. Either way, good luck to all of us.

I have to admit, one of my better gambles. Shop owner had one pack, and I jumped since he discounted it by 20 bucks. Good thing: Ty Montgomery purple auto jumbo patch /25, Staubach blue ink auto 1/5 and…..Eddie George Jumbo Patch Gold Ink Inscription auto 1/1 redemption (now showing on eBay!). I would not have bought more, though.

I’m looking for any of the topps Diamond booklets or dual autos. Please reach outbid you have either for sale or trade.

    Thanks in advance.
