2015-16 Panini NBA Hoops Basketball Details
A hobby favorite is back again as Panini America has dropped details about 2015-16 NBA Hoops and collectors can get an early look at the season’s hottest rookie talents
With each hobby box loaded up with two autograph cards and at least 20 inserts or parallels, Hoops has long been an affordable entry point for those that are new to the world of basketball cards. Even grizzled veteran collectors can appreciate what this release has to offer as there are seven numbered cards to be found inside each box along with the potential of pulling a signature from a Rookie of the Year contender like Karl-Anthony Towns, Jahlil Okafor, or D’Angelo Russell.
Base Set
Since its inception, Hoops has always been considered to be one of the best places for collectors to find game action photography. The size of the base set has been confirmed at 300 cards (260 players and 40 rookies), it traditionally covers more ground than any other and is the best place to find the players that come off the bench. The clean design is aesthetically pleasing and this is the first place to find rookie cards from 2015 draftees and other players looking to make the jump to the NBA this season. Base card parallels will also exist and the red backs, gold, and green versions will not bear serial numbers. However, there will be silver (numbered to 299) along with Artist’s Proofs (limited to 99) and Artist’s Proof Back, which are one-of-ones.
Autographs
There are plenty of options for autograph collectors with two coming in each hobby box. Hot Signatures includes ink from the rookie class. Red Hot Signatures parallels are inserted at longer odds and utilize red foil instead of gold. Another autograph set entitled Great Significance will also be a part of the lineup.
Inserts
Road the the Finals returns for another year. The set chronicles the playoffs and is tiered by round. Some of the cards are short prints. So, building a set is a challenge.
Ssome of the rarest inserts of all in Hoops include Kobe’s All-Rookie Team. New Triple-Double cards look back on each occasion where that statistical feat was accomplished in 2014-15. Swat Team examines the game’s best defensive talents with action photoss.
Highlights covers big moments and Bird’s Eye View gives a look at the game from above the rim.
