First look: 2014 Topps Five Star baseball cards
By Chris Olds | Beckett Baseball Editor
Five Star is back for a third round.
Topps revealed the first glimpses and basic details on its third edition of its high-end baseball card line Five Star on Tuesday with one revelation — there will be more autographs per box.
Each box of 2014 Topps Five Star will include one autographed Relic, Silver Signatures or Golden Graph auto, four other autographed cards and a sixth card that will be either another standard auto, a cut auto, a Legends Relic or a 1/1 Relic. It will arrive on Dec. 3, while a tentative checklist was not released.
Active and retired player autographs will be found four per box with each having a rainbow parallel limited to 25 copies and a 1/1 Five Star version to be found. Silver Signatures and Golden Graphs will be signed with metallic ink and have seven versions to chase. The regular cards will be limited to 50 with Purples (/25), Blue (/20), Green (/15), Gold (/10), Orange (/5) and 1/1 Red versions to chase.
Autographed Relics will be limited to just 35 copies with Gold (/10) Rainbow (/5) and 1/1 Five Star parallels, while there also will be 1/1 logoman cards to be found.
Autographed booklets will come in at least three versions with dual auto patch cards limited to 10 and four-Relic auto books limited to 50. Those will have Gold patch parallels limited to 10 and, of course, 1/1 Five Star versions. Auto jumbo Relic books will also be limited to 50 with Gold and 1/1 Five Star versions to be had. There also will be 1/1 cut autograph cards to be found.
For the high-end Relic collector, there will be Letters Relics — 1/1 full-letter patch cards from players’ nameplates, Legends Relics limited to just 25 copies, dual Legends limited to 10 as well as 1/1 bat knobs and bat nameplates.

I hope the boxes dont suck as bad as they did last year for 400 bux, or they need to lower the price to 200 a box !!!!!
So is the Babe Ruth material from stadium seats again?
Do the COA still have the weasel speak that means nothing?
We guarantee the material. We don’t way what the material is, nor what you would be entitled to
if it turns out its not what we want you to think it is. Phooey.
Until they do what was done before, taking a picture of the source material and explicitly stating who
used it, I consider it junk now and won’t touch it.
Richard, I agree 100%. I ‘ve been saying this for a few years and people think I am crazy and not a “true collector” This is why I’ve basiclly stopped collecting memorabilia all together.
Isn’t the Srp $500?
The Babe Ruth wood is actually from a skate board which was found in the attic of his childhood home probably ;)
Who is this Oi Oo that signed Carlos Gonzales’ card?
Wow! Trout’s scribble is looking more like Wil Myers Scribble each year! Pretty soon they will be identical!
