First look: 2014 Topps Finest Football

With the focus on quarterbacks heading into the 2014 football draft, it’s no surprise companies will highlight the gunslingers as much as possible.

Topps is adding a new feature in 2014 Topps Finest Football, Quarterback Quartet Autograph Patch Books Cards. Certainly, players such as Johnny Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater, Blake Bortles and AJ McCarron will be included in these cards.

Each pack of 2014 Finest Football will contain five cards. There will be six packs in each mini box with two packs in each master box.

Each master box will contain a Finest Rookie Refractor Autograph Patch card, and an Autographed Finest Refractor Jumbo Relic Card. There will also be two Atomic Refractor rookies and two Fantasy’s Finest Cards.

New additions to 2014 Finest Football include Fantasy’s Finest Autograph Jumbo Patches and Superfractors of multi-auto cards.

The Rookie Refractor Autograph Patch will feature players at the NFLPA Rookie Premiere. The cards will came in a dozen parallels. Blue Refractor (numbered to 99), Red Refractor (numbered to 75), Gold Refractor (numbered to 50), Pulsar Refractor (Jumbo Patch, numbered to 25), X-Fractor (Jumbo patch, numbered to 15), BCA Refractor (Jumbo Patch, numbered to 10), and Salute to Service Refractor (Jumbo Patch, numbered to 10) are the more basic parallels.

Other parallels include one-of-ones such as Black Refractor Pigskin NFL Shield Parallel, Black Refractor NFLPA Logo Parallel (NFLPA logo from the laundry tag), Black Refractor NFL Shield Logo Parallel (NFL Shield logo from the laundry tag), Black Refractor Swoosh Logo Parallel (Swoosh logo from the laundry tag) and a SuperFractor Jumbo Team Patch Parallel.

The Autograph Jumbo Relic cards will highlight rookies and veterans. These parallels include Blue Refractor (#’d to 99), Red Refractor (#’d to 75), Gold Refractor (#’d to 50), Pulsar Refractor Patch (#’d to 25), X-Fractor Patch (#’d to 15), BCA Patch (#’d to 10), Salute to Service (#’d to 10), Black Refractor Swoosh Parallel (1-of-1) and SuperFractor Team Patch (1-of-1).

There are bigger hits in 2014 Finest featuring books cards and dual and triple relics.

Dual Autograph Dual Relics will highlight two players on each card and are numbered to 10. Rare parallels include a SuperFractor. Collectors can also find Triple Autograph Triple Relics with SuperFractor parallels.

Topps is including the theme of fantasy football in Finest, carrying it over from its 2014 flagship product with Fantasy’s Finest Autographed Jumbo Patches. These cards will feature veterans and rookies highlighting their top games from a fantasy perspective. Card will show fantasy statistics with an autograph and a jumbo patch.

These cards will also have Pulsar Refractors (numbered to 10), and SuperFractor parallels.

There are also Rookie Refractor Autograph Variations with Blue Refractor, Red Refractor, Pulsar Refractor and SuperFractor Parallels.

This Finest inserts include Finest QB Cuts (die-cut design featuring rookie quarterbacks), Finest Atomic Refractor Rookies, and Fantasy’s Finest.
As Topps seems to love doing lately, there will also be a Mystery Rookie Autographed Redemption of a player to be named during the season.

The base set will feature 150 cards with 50 of them being Rookie Cards. The parallels include Refractor, X-Fractor, Blue Refractor (#’d to 99.), Gold Refractor (#’d to 75), Red Refractor (#’d to 50), Pulsar Refractor (#’d to 25), BCA Refractor (#’d to 10), STS Refractor (#’d to 10), SuperFractor and Printing Plates.

2014 Finest Football is scheduled to come out the week of Sept. 3.

    I agree with jp some parallels esp the lower versons /50 /25 etc are worth more then some jumbo jersey autos… I like the cards but I HOPE they arent having sticker autos I haven’t seen finest do that in yrs and would be a total bummer, base design is nice but is it just me or do the base design look a lot like upper decks?

    Would have liked to see some throwback set since it is 20th anniversary of the 1994 set.
