First Look: 2014 Panini Country Music cards
By Chris Olds | Beckett Sports Card Monthly Editor
Panini America has gone country.
Country musicians will take center stage in the latest non-sports set coming soon from Panini as 2014 Panini Country Music will pack a hit in every pack — and that’s got nothing to do with the charts.
With eight cards per pack, four packs per box and 20 boxes per case, this one will cover the big names for the genre when it arrives on Dec. 10. It also will include four hits per box with at least two of those being certified autographs. Every box will include five insert cards and two parallels.
Among those signing for the inaugural release? Miranda Lambert, Florida Georgia Line, Brantley Gilbert, Sara Evans, Ashley Monroe, Alabama, LeAnn Rimes, Darius Rucker and the Eli Young Band to name a few.
Jumbo autographs will include several of the names above along with Wynonna Judd, David Nail, Pat Green and Jana Kramer to also be included. Bandmates will appear on Combo Signatures cards with Thompson Square, Big & Rich, Brantley Gilbert/Colt Ford, Gretchen Wilson/Terri Clark, Pat Green/Chuck Wicks among those planned for that insert. For solo artists, there will be single-sig cards featuring some of the names previously mentioned along with Ashley Monroe, Joe Diffie, Kimberly Perry, Pat Green, Heidi Newfield, Chris Young, Ronnie Milsap and Randy Owen among others.
Triple Materials cards will also be in the mix with Alabama, The Band Perry, The Cadillac Three and Gloriana among those to be found. These cards will have Silver (/25) and Gold (/10) parallels. They also will have prime versions.
There will be five insert sets in this one — Backstage Pass, Fresh Faces, Instrumental, Top of the Charts and Award Winners — and each will have four types of parallel cards. They are Blue (/199), Red (/99), Silver (/49) and Gold (/25).
A preliminary checklist was not released.
