First look: 2012 Topps MLB Sticker Collection
By Chris Olds | Beckett Baseball Editor
One of the niche favorites of this year is sticking with us for 2012 — and that’s going to suit many a collector.
Topps unveiled the first details and preview images for its 2012 MLB Sticker Collection on Monday, and it’s a 309-sticker offering with some new touches.
With an album featuring a page for every team — and six free stickers — the collection will showcase 245 MLB veterans while also including nine highlight stickers for memorable moments of the 2011 season and 25 team mascots. Also included will be 30 foil stickers with two MLB teams per sheet.
The main set includes veterans and rookies — there are no legends this year. In their place are the mascots where a team has one. Each team will get as many as nine players on stickers with the mascot replacing a player for most teams. The highlights stickers are another new edition for 2012.
Each pack of eight stickers will sell for 99 cents with albums costing $1.99. The collection arrives on March 21.

Yay!!! Is that enough for me to say?
At 309 stickers (again), AND THEY’RE REPLACING A PLAYER WITH A MASCOT??! They could have done away with the team logo stickers and replaced them with the mascot. Could have used more players per team (at least 12-14). Highlights are a nice touch. The design of the base stickers works.
Just let me finish my 2011 Sticker Collection first!!!
Sincerely,

This product is nothing more than an attack on Panini. They want to show MLB they can do anything Panini can. Agree?
Or … is it an instance where Topps picked up the rights to do this so Panini couldn’t?
I still have the Topps Football and Baseball stickers/albums I bought from the early 1980s with my paper route money. Glad to see they brought them back…
They should improve the set by adding redemptions for star autos and jersey cards.
But also bump up the sticker price 30-50 cents.
There are some legend in the group. Cause I have the complete set and there a Mickey mantle, thought I saw a Johnny bench too
is there a site where you can purchase individual stickers for the 2012 collection?
