Upper Deck released the basic product breakdown and preview images for its 2009 Sweet Spot Baseball set on Friday — yet another year for the popular product but one that includes a few surprise twists.

While the set will include the standard Sweet Spot autographs everyone has come to expect, there are also going to be inclusions like this Michael Jordan autograph and autographed cards from presidents Bill Clinton and Gerald Ford along with bat barrel three members of the first Hall of Fame class.

There will be four memorabilia cards in each six-pack hobby box along with one Sweet Beginnings Rookie Signature card and one Sweet Spot or Sweet Spot Classic Autograph card.

Each 18-box case will include one Immortal Signature, Historic Signature, 2005 Classic Update Patch, Patch Triple, Patch Quad, or Bat Barrel card as well as one Sweet Patch or Sweet Patch Dual.

The basic set will be comprised of 100 standard cards and 30 Sweet Beginnings autographs.

Chris Olds has collected sports cards and memorabilia since 1987. Before coming to Beckett Media, he wrote about the hobby for the Orlando Sentinel on his blog, SportsStuff, and for the San Antonio Express-News and The Tuscaloosa (Ala.) News.
