First look: 2009 Topps T206 Baseball 100th Anniversary Edition
Topps released images and basic product information on Friday for its upcoming baseball card set that pays tribute to the T206 memorable tobacco cards of the early 1900s. While you’ll find much more on the product — and additional images — in the latest issue of Beckett Baseball, here’s the lowdown …
The 2009 T206 Baseball 100th Anniversary Edition arrives in November with eight cards per pack ($5 suggested retail price), 20 packs per box and 10 boxes per hobby case. Each hobby box will include one autograph card and one Relic.
The set will consist of 300 cards — veterans, retired players and rookies — as well as 50 short-printed variations, which will be found one in every four packs.
PARALLELS
A new Parallel will be regular size Bronze cards (one per pack), while the popular tobacco card-sized mini parallels return once again in every pack. Here’s the breakdown:

Sticker autos on a product like this are a disgrace
[…] The Beckett blog recently released a sneak peak of the set that includes the above Jackie Robinson silk insert card. I just thought this card was worth sharing with all of you. Expect boxes to arrive in stores in November. […]
Are the SPs 1:4 packs or 1:20? 1:4 is pretty bad considering there’s only 20 packs per box, but 1:20 is 08 Masterpieces-level ridiculous bad.
And yes, sticker autos on a vintage product is just terrible. That said, in spite of these little hiccups, this is looking to be an awesome set.
1:20 is for the MINI SPs.
The Autograph on a sticker is a real pain to see esp when this is suppose to be an 100 Anniversary edition. They should of just stopped with the 2002 Topps T206.
Although I did not receive an autograph card, I did get a couple of greats for myself being old enough to have been to a ballgame in Detroit in 62 when I watched Detroit play Baltimore When Robinson played for the Orioles and Al Kaline played with his Home team in Detroit. This is why I appreaciate cards that include some of those Hall of Famers with the greats of the current teams. One card I got of Mickey mantle has no card number, it just says MANTLE AMERICAN LEAGUE on the back. Is this considered a Parallel card and what would be the percentage difference in value from it’s numbered 154 card?
Second question, I luckily pulled the Albert Pujols FR-4 OLD MILL CARD. Is this the first card set that you can see the used game piece visable on both sides of the card, and as I have not seen any posting of value expects for this card, any Ideas? Thank you for your site and appreciate any answers. Thank you Ron from BC. Canada.
What are the odds on the no-number variations? I’m not finding a lot of information on these cards….
how much would a cole hamels relic card go for??
Does a Ty Cobb 2002 T206 game-used bat card /100 without a frame border hurt the value of the card?
I’m very late in buying this product. Local Wal-Mart only had 3 blasters remaining, so I purchase them. And I pull an Old Mill Ty Cobb Bat Relic!
I really like the look of this set because of its simplicity. No rediculous lines of stats to clutter the backs up. Hope I can find some more!
