First look: 2009 Bowman Sterling baseball cards
Topps released the basic product information and preview images for its 2009 Bowman Sterling baseball card set on Wednesday.
Every five-card pack (mini box) will include two autograph cards, one Relic, one rookie and one prospect when it arrives in late December.
Every six-pack box will include a total of six World Baseball Classic Relics, one WBC Relic box-topper (a Blue Refractor version) and one dual autograph card in addition to four rookie autographs and eight prospect autographs.
More to come — with a complete tentative checklist and images — after the jump.
As usual, there are Refractor versions of all of the autograph, Relic, rookie and prospect cards. Here’s a rundown:
Red: 1/1s
Black: Numbered to 25.
Gold: Numbered to 50.
Refractor: Numbered to 199.
The base card sets consist of 50 rookies and 50 prospects, while the WBC Relic set consists of 50 cards. The dual autograph checklist (below) runs seven cards deep, while there are 28 prospect autographs and just 10 rookie autographs to be found.
There also will be Printing Plates (1/1s) to be found for each of the 45 autograph rookie, prospect and dual autograph cards as well as the 100 non-autograph rookie and prospect cards.

Why isn’t “refractor” printed on cards
