Expect a Cooperstown Bump, but How Much?


The Modern Baseball Committee announced two new members elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday night. Marvin Miller and Ted Simmons will be inducted in Cooperstown, New York, in 2020. Miller was a revolutionary head for the player’s union. His achievements include free agency, arbitration and player salary increases. Simmons made eight All-Star teams during his 21-year major league career. A switch-hitter, he batted .285 with 248 homers and 1,389 RBIs for three teams from 1968-88 (St. Louis, Milwaukee and Atlanta.
