Eichel leads Young Guns for 2015-16 Upper Deck Series Two Hockey

Buffalo Sabres rookie Jack Eichel is finally getting his Young Guns card, and he has plenty of company as Upper Deck has announced the lineup for the ever-popular subset’s latest installment set to come in packs of 2015-16 Upper Deck Series Two Hockey.
With a photo taken following his second professional goal that came against the Columbus Blue Jackets as the second overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft debuted back on October 12, this card is joined by 48 other Young Guns that include budding stars such as Jake Virtanen, Zachary Fucale, and the league’s latest Rookie of the Month, Louis Domingue.

In addition to the Young Guns, look for parallel versions such as UD Exclusives (/100) and High Gloss (/10) in addition to over-sized cards that will appear in blaster boxes. Printing plates (one-of-one for four different colors) will also be inserted into packs. Collectors should also note that there will be an update to this subset coming in 2015-16 Upper Deck SP Authentic Hockey.
Other rookie-themed content set for release in about two weeks includes a 30-card UD Canvas Young Guns (1:48) collection plus 15 tougher to pull UD Canvas Team Canada subset cards (1:192) featuring prospects wearing their national colors. There are also 40 different 2015-16 O-Pee-Chee Update cards that have several parallels such as Rainbow Foil (1:30), Red (1:300), and Rainbow Black (/100).
If that was not enough to satiate your need for rookies, look for Rookie Materials (1:48) that have pieces of player-worn jerseys or patches (/25). Rookie Breakouts (/100) are printed on acetate stock and have a partial parallel limited to 25 copies. UD Portraits (1:6) continue over from Series One with a whopping 50 rookies and come in additional Gold (/99) and Platinum Blue (/25) versions.
Finally, those busting Mega Boxes of this product will find exclusive O-Pee-Chee Glossy Rookies. A loaded 10-card collection which appears to be distributed in a similar manner to the Parkhurst Rookies from Series One, there are two to three of these cards in each box plus the possibility of pulling Red (1:4) and Black (1:18) parallels.
While Beckett Hockey is waiting on confirmation of the players who are eligible for rookie cards in 2015-16, it should be noted that the only carryover from last season that has not appeared on their first card is John Ramage, a second-generation player who skated in one game with the Calgary Flames. Upper Deck has confirmed that he is slated for an upcoming product.
