Here is a list of card shops that are offering online services, breaks, curbside pick-up, home delivery and more during the COVID-19 pandemic. This means you can continue to support your local business in these challenging times. And conveniently, too, all things considered.
Over the past couple of months, things have evolved. Some shops are open, some are available in limited ways like curbside pick-up. Others are available for personal sales and delivery. You can still support many cards shops (or maybe discover a new shop if there isn’t one nearby) through online purchases. The State of California has ordered all non-essential businesses to CLOSE per a mandate for their Governor Gavin Newsom. How exactly are the stores in CA able to stay open to offer curbside pickup?

Per the LA Times article linked above, the only essential businesses in CA are listed below. Sports card shops don’t fit that bill.
What stays open:
Pharmacies
Food: Grocery stores, farmers markets, food banks, convenience stores, takeout and delivery restaurants
Banks
Gas stations
Laundromats/laundry services
Essential state and local government functions including law enforcement and offices that provide government programs and services.
@trey – We started this list a week ago. Because things were already evolving then, we included the following, “Things are constantly evolving. Please call ahead or email shops in advance and be understanding if they have to change things up.”
Although they may not be able to offer curbside at the moment, we’ll keep the shops up for the time being because local collectors may be able to get in touch with them and have some stuff set aside. Or maybe they’ll find a nearby shop for the first time for when we have the all-clear. And when things start to go back to normal, it will likely be gradual so curbside may be an option again in a few weeks.
