Classic Auctions to offer impressive pre-war hockey collection

Classic Auctions has one the most impressive pre-war hockey card collections added to their fall and spring auctions.

There are more than 400 PSA-graded cards in Simon Bourque’s collection from 1910 to 1940, including a 1911-12 Imperial Tobacco C55 set, a 1912-13 Imperial Tobacco C57 set, a 1923-24 William Patterson V145-1 set and a 1924-25 Champ’s Cigarettes C144 set. Bourque’s collection is one of the best on the PSA Registry.

Part one of the set will be auctioned in the fall auction in early October with the second part in the spring.

“I can I’m a crazy collector more than 55 years,” said Bourque in a video created by Classic Auctions. He also collects stamps, coins playing cards and more. “I decided about 15 years to focus my collection on pre-war cards. … The pre-war hockey cards were so scarce and I was thinking of the long-term it would be a very fun accomplishment for me.”
