Cheap Wax Wednesday Box Breaks: 2021 Topps All-Star Rookie Cup Baseball
Now, I know what you are thinking. It is football season, these are supposed to be football breaks! I know, I know. However, when these were made available I grabbed some and wanted to share it here as timely as I could. So we take a break from football to check this out. It is just for this week, I promise.
2021 Topps All-Star Rookie Cup Baseball was an online-exclusive product. These single pack boxes were available to Montgomery Club members first, as are most online releases. The remaining product was made available to the general public on the Topps website. They have now sold out.

The set celebrates former Topps All-Star Rookie Cup honorees as well as current Rookie Cup nominees. The 2021 Topps All-Star Rookie Cup team features Tyler Stephenson, Ryan Mountcastle, Jonathan India, Patrick Wisdom, Wander Franco, Randy Arozarena, Adolis Garcia, Dylan Carlson, Luis Garcia, Trevor Rogers and Emmanuel Clase.

Rookie Cup Nominees:
Akil Baddoo & Andres Gimenez

Veteran Rookie Cup:
Reggie Sanders, Jim Abbott, Rod Carew & Ryne Sandberg
This is a good representation of the overall checklist of former Rookie Cup players. Many Hall of Fame players are included on the checklist.

Variations:
Mike Piazza Image Variation (1:3 packs), Dylan Carlson 1960 Variation
I have always liked Image Variation cards, and this one is no different. This is a great, different sort of shot of Piazza.

Parallel and Autograph:
Fernando Tatis, Jr. Gold Foil (25/50, 1:5 packs) & Jose Garcia Autograph
The Tatis Gold Foil parallels have been selling on eBay for over $70.

This product seems as though it was a smash hit. I have seen nothing but positive reviews on the product. Yes, there have been people unhappy with their specific pulls, but overall the talk has been very positive. I am happy I was able to grab some of this before it disappeared.
I think that we have a different opinion on what is “cheap”. A box has one single pack of 10 cards for $50. I wouldn’t call a single pack for $50 “cheap”.
Step up to the plate.. big boy stuff now!!
