Cheap Wax Wednesday Box Breaks: 1993 Triple Play Baseball
1993 Donruss Triple Play features a 264-card base set. The design went dark! Cards feature a lot of black and red, with mostly black card backs as well. This set was geared towards the younger collector.
As far as inserts go, there are four in total with this release. However, three of them are exclusive to specific variations. Nicknames inserts are exclusive to Wax boxes, like this one.
Gallery of Stars inserts are only found in Jumbo boxes. Lastly, League Leaders inserts are found only in Magazine boxes.
There are no rookie cards in the release.

Action Baseball cards could be opened up to reveal a game you could play with a friend. Players would scratch off boxes and play out the revealed outcomes.

Mile High and Joe Robbie Stadium (Florida Marlins) were the only stadiums to get a card in this set, giving fans a look at where the new expansion teams would play. The Rockies played their first two seasons at Mile High while Coors Field was being built.

This is what you can expect from a box of Triple Play. If you’re looking to find some valuable cards, this is definitely NOT that. However, if you’re looking for some fun cards of legendary players, as well as some nostalgia, on the cheap … you might have something here!
