1993 Donruss Baseball has two series, each with 396 cards. The Series 2 checklist features some notable Rated Rookies, including Chipper Jones. However, often RR are not considered actual Rookie Cards, which is the case with the Chipper card.

There were a few inserts to find in this one. Spirit of the Game cards are double-sided and featured some great card photos. Diamond Kings cards feature the artwork of the great Dick Perez and have always been a collector favorite. But, let’s be honest. There is really only one reason to be opening 1993 Donruss these days, and that is the Elite Series. Each is limited to 10,000 copies. That may sound like a lot by today’s standards but they are extremely difficult to pull. Maybe it’s my lucky day?

I got the chance to attend a screening of the film The Diamond King while I was at the National Sports Collectors Convention in July. The film is about the life of artist Dick Perez. Really well done. I would suggest seeing it when you get the chance to.
