A Marvel-ous List of Captain Marvel Cast Autographs – Beckett Pricing Insider
That suit and helmet. That Blockbuster Video flashback. A two-eyed Nick Fury and a non-receding hairline Agent Coulson.
The Captain Marvel trailer premiered with much fanfare and, I have to say, I’m pumped for this film. Not just for the film itself, but for the potential trading card product to complement it. While it hasn’t been confirmed by Upper Deck, don’t be surprised if they continue their Marvel run with product featuring the on-screen debut of Carol Danvers.
The autograph possibilities here are incredible. A Brie Larson autograph card would be fantastic and should command a high price on the secondary market. However, there are no slouches in the supporting cast, either. Jude Law and Gemma Chan have no autographed cards out there yet.
That said, there are plenty of actors in the film who do have autographs on the secondary market already. Some are from other Marvel-themed releases while some are from outside.
Here is a list of the key autographs to hunt (and I can personally guarantee that no grandmothers were punched during the making of this list).
Captain Marvel Cast Autograph Highlights
Samuel L. Jackson
2005 Topps Star Wars Revenge of the Sith Widevision Autographs – $600-$1,000
Jackson’s Nick Fury has been one of the most iconic roles in the MCU to date (rivaling Iron Man and Captain America). That said, his most desired autographs come from the Star Wars. Before the release of 2018 Star Wars Masterwork, Jackson only had two autographs. His first offering from 2005 Topps Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Widevision is still the most desired and the most valuable.
Clark Gregg
2008 Rittenhouse Iron Man Autographs – $25-$60
Greg’s Agent Coulson has been along for the ride since the beginning, making his debut in Iron Man. Since then, he has had several autograph releases, but his initial autograph has remained the most popular. It’s also pretty reasonable for the average collector’s wallet.
Ben Mendelsohn
2018 Topps Star Wars Masterwork Autographs #A-BM
From Rogue One’s Director Krennic to Robin Hood’s Nottingham, this guy has a knack for playing villains. Captain Marvel will be no different as Mendelsohn is set to play the main Skrull baddie, Talos. Mendelsohn’s first autograph is probably his most intriguing. It’s a bonus card that will come with Mark Hamill’s eventual redeemed autograph from 2017 Topps Star Wars Stellar Signatures. So it is a redemption, only it doesn’t have an actual redemption card. And because Hamill still hasn’t signed the Stellar cards, the accompanying Mendelsohn autograph have also been held back as Topps promised to send them together. If you’re looking for a live autograph to hold you over, the acclaimed actor is in 2018 Topps Star Wars Masterwork, a popular line with autograph collectors.
Lee Pace
2014 Upper Deck Guardians of the Galaxy Autographs #LP – $50-$100
Pace’s Ronan the Accuser was first brought to life in Guardians of the Galaxy. The Pushing Daisies star returns in Captain Marvel. Pace has several autographs from both GotG sets and others for The Hobbit trilogy.
Djimon Hounsou
2014 Upper Deck Guardians of the Galaxy Autographs #DH – $50-$100
Hounsou’s Korath will also return in Captain Marvel. There aren’t many autograph options out there for the two-time Oscar nominee. He has three, all in Upper Deck’s Guardians of the Galaxy set.
Benedict Cumberbatch
2016 Upper Deck Doctor Strange Autographs #SS-BC – $500-$800
Between Star Trek and Doctor Strange, Cumberbatch has several autographs on the market. All are sought after but his take as the Sorcerer Supreme is the most appropriate here. Since the release of Avengers: Infinity War, one of the 14,000,605 long-standing rumors is that Doctor Strange will make an appearance in Captain Marvel. Will he? We shall find out in February.
Stan Lee
2007 Rittenhouse Spider-Man 3 Autographs – $50-$100
There really is nothing that can be said about Stan Lee that hasn’t been said already. He’s the godfather of comics and the master of movie cameos (35 total–so far). He has a ton of autographs out there, but his most notable is the Spider-Man 3 release. It can be argued that Lee’s greatest gift to the comic world is his role in the creation of Spider-Man, which makes this issue that much more desirable.
