Calling All Card Shops! Let’s Build a Directory of Stores Offering Pick-Up and Home Delivery

Right now, it’s vital that we all stay home as much as possible. But for small businesses — like card shops — this poses as a massive hurdle.

Many are changing up how they do business so that collectors can continue to collect and they can continue to offer their services. The key here is keeping everyone as safe as possible.

Making sure contact to is kept a minimum is the most important thing. So traditional shipping is certainly a route that’s available. But card shops have long offered that personal touch and sense of community. There are a couple of ways that many shops are adopting to these changing times.

The first is curbside pickup. Basically, collectors call up and let the shop staff know what they want. Email can also work. Customers place an order, pay via credit card or online payment and head to the shop. When the collector arrives, they call again to let the store owner know they’re outside and the order pick-up is made.

Some stores are taking it a step further by offering to have card orders right to the collector’s doorstep. The same premise of calling or emailing applies. Then, at some point in the day, the cards are dropped off at your home. Basically, it’s like a pizza delivery only with boxes of cards or supplies.

We want to provide a directory of brick and mortar shops offering either (or both) of these services.

Store owners simply need to fill out the form below and hit submit. We’ll put together the list as soon as possible and post it. Shops can also access the form here if they prefer. Alternately, if you’d prefer to send me an email, I can be reached at rcracknell@beckett.com.

We understand that these are tough times and that it’s going to be a long haul ahead. Where possible, supporting local businesses will help our communities.

If you are a card shop owner offering pick-up or personal home delivery, we hope to hear from you. If you’re a collector, please feel free to forward this post or this link to your local shop. Please, only shop owners and staff filling out the form so we can help ensure accuracy.

Once we get some shops signed up, we’ll get a directory post up. We would like to include as many brick and mortar card shops as possible so please share the link to this post or the sign-up form with your local stores if they’re offering either of these two services.
