By the Numbers: Chipper Jones’ baseball cards

By Chris Olds | Beckett Baseball Editor

With his Atlanta Braves bounced by the infield fly rule St. Louis Cardinals in Friday night’s NL Wild Card playoff, Chipper Jones‘ 19-year major-league career is over.

He finishes with 468 career home runs, 2,726 hits, 1,623 RBI, a .303 average, eight All-Star appearances, one NL MVP award, one batting title and one World Series ring.

As a life long Mets fan, watching Chipper terrorize my team for 19 years was rough. The guy just owned my Mets. That being said, I have nothing but respect and admiration for him, and can’t wait to see him 5 years from now in Cooperstown.

The really tough Chipper(LARRRRY) Jones may be the Topps Desert Storm I would say harder than the Topps Tiffany . Can you give a little report on the actual numbers of Topps Desert Storm 91 sets produced.
The Bowman 92 a really historical set in my opinion becasue it strted the Bowman prospects we’ve all come to love or uh hate.
Thanks again Chipper for your dedication to the Braves .

To spend your entire 19 year career with one team all the while putting up solid numbers, keeping your nose clean, and playing hard everyday is first ballot Hall of Fame worthy in my mind. Thanks for a good run Chipper!!!!!!!!!!
