Bryce Harper, Justin Turner get the Chia Pet treatment in 2016 MLB stadium giveaways

It’s unlikely that Chia Pets will ever replace the bobblehead as the go-to stadium giveaway for sports teams. But they’re here. 2016 has at least two happening for Major League Baseball with both Bryce Harper and Justin Turner slated to get veggie hair over the course of the season.
Justin Turner is first up. The Dodgers will celebrate their ginger-bearded third baseman with his own Chia Pet on April 30 when Los Angeles takes on the San Diego Padres.
The Washington Nationals have the Bryce Harper Chia Pet giveaway planned for July 5 versus the Milwaukee Brewers. No preliminary images of the reigning National League MVP’s sculpt has been released yet. But between Harper’s beard and trademark hair, the possibilities are there.
This isn’t the first time the Nationals have honored one of their players with a Chia Pet. Jayson Werth got a similar sprout treatment in August, 2015.
