I love the design and concept of this product. The graded cards increases the value of the items. Autos and relics show the modern touch.
    Overall, I rate this product a 9.5 of 10.

The product is interesting and reminds me of both Best of and Heroes of Sport. If I were to purchase this product it would be by the case only. This based on the possibility of only getting one card and a percentage of the full cost back.

I understand you nore often than not you will not make your purchase price back but I would be a fan if 35% of the time you could get yout money back or more.

I personally like this product. I like the fact that you can get modern and vintage cards from different eras. I also like the idea of getting cards from multiple products. I definitely think the Case”hit” is the Marino SPX auto. I think that the “value” of the box isn’t quite there. At $140 per box I think that it would be more fun to throw in some base cards so the collector has some more bang for the buck. Thanks for opening this case and showing new products.

The product is good if you like to gamble. For the cost of a box some really weren’t good value, but others were pretty good. Not something I would buy. If I am spending that kind of money on a hit, I would prefer it to be a player I collect.

I liked their baseball product, and I like the football as well. There may not be a tremendous value return, but no products do anymore. At least these are all names, and hits. Plus, SBay is a solid company, stand up guys from my dealings with them.

To be brutally honest, I hate the product. Repacked products like this are for the ultimate box-buster thrill chaser type. There are not many people that collect such an eclectic mix of cards that you are going to get in these packs, most will go right back on ebay. I guess if people don’t know how to buy singles and want to blow there money, than this is for them?

As a kid I remember going into the only card shop around which was in the mall. They had boxes of SPx baseball and football. My parents wouldn’t ever let me get any of the packs because at the time they were very expensive. I was allowed to get regular Upper Deck or Upper Deck Collector’s Choice (which was my favorite because they had jumbo packs with 50 cards). The SPx hologram diecuts were always so cool to me. I remember the first time in the 1996 product when they had the Ken Griffey Jr hologram autograph and thinking it was the greatest thing ever made. So the Dan Marino you were able to pull out of the 2013 Super Box Football reminded me of how great those cards were. Perfect on-card auto of a HoFer that’s a die cut and hologram…doesn’t get much better than that as far as card design. The repackaged product can yield some neat stuff that you don’t always see and gives you variety. It’s a tad pricey for the box gamble but if you hit, then it’s well worth it (just like any other product)

  19. Posted September 3, 2013 at 7:23 pm | Permalink

I like the concept of the idea. Sorta like the Heros Of Sport boxes. It’s a very hit or miss product. The best option would be to buy a case and hope for the best. I wish I could afford one, that’s why I’m saving up for Heros of Sport Chapter 2…

I’ve always been a fan of the Super Boxes that South Bay puts out. Some of the cards you can get are incredible and the pricing is set really well. Several times I have seen where they will also give you raffle tickets for the boxes you purchase and then give away something additional after the boxes are sold out. All in all I think it brings something different to the table and diversity is great for this hobby that we all love and share. On a sidenote, September 10th is my birthday so the Marino would be an awesome birthday gift! ;)

I think that Sbay Super Box is a great product! It provides you with cards from your childhood (vintage) and cards of current stars and soon to be stars!! If you are newer to collecting this is the way to go to jump start your collection!! Great Job Sbay also thanks Beckett for all of your give aways and fun breaks!

I like the product because it gives the fans a decent shot at some high card super cards, plus the weaker packs still contain some pretty good cards. Low risk, high reward for the collectors.

Wow—Sooz–Nice break of some off beat product-Im thinking that was from the 96-97 spx issue? (Marino Auto)–if not looks similar to that design–At $140 box a little steep, thought at first it was for case ,now that would be bargain!!! Anyway would love to add Marino to my collection, wouldnt go on Ebay for this guy–Only thing would be better if it was Elway,,HeHe—but Marino was fastest release Qb in his day and a worthy opponent to Elway on the field–Tx for the offer!—Ill watch Twitter for some of the others-some of those graded cards looked nice!

I think its more miss than hit. I mean a RGIII Chrome RC. Whats that like a $20 card? $140×5=$700 for that case. I’d rather buy some Inception and take my chances there!!

  34. Kevin
    Posted September 3, 2013 at 9:19 pm | Permalink

Actually there were some nice hits coming out of those packs. Of course the Marino on card was epic, but Kap and the muscle hamster were nice also. It would be very easy for this company to make 4 out of 5 boxes not so great in order to pay for the big hits, but even at 140ish a box I would of been happy with 3 of those boxes. Of course the biggest hit in the product is what WASN’T in the boxes…..REDEMPTIONS!!!!!! Thanks!!!!

    Posted September 3, 2013 at 9:22 pm | Permalink

All nice cards for sure. I think the value lies in the beholder so to speak. Obviously you can look up the value of each card or base the decision on your personal taste. This case I personally would be down on a little. Not a lot but ehh. But this really is no different than buying a box or case from anyone else and getting some good and not so good hits. So I guess it comes down to like most things whether you want to spend the money or not. But some of the cards I have seen in this are pretty amazing. So I think it’s worth the gamble if you can swing it. And that’s the plan for me. Thanks!

I was kind of surprised the kaepernick was only 80 bucks. With that said I thought they did a pretty good job for this gimmick, I’d be more inclined to buy this one than the baseball one that was 500 dollars a box

Interesting product. Somewhat similar to the Leaf best of type of cards. However, they seem to have some better cards. I would consider buying a box although you seem to be better off with a case due to chance of a big hit.

There seems to be a nice balance. If you get one card only, it seems to be a great hit. If you get more than one card, they seem to add up to make a decent pull. I like that. That brings some since of fairness to paying for a higher end product.

This is a great idea, they put some serious money into these, they could sell these cards for a decent price on-line. It’s actually a great idea, if you have the inventory to stock them. You get a bit of a premium and create a buzz, definitely piqued my interest!

  50. KC Touch
    Posted September 4, 2013 at 1:39 am | Permalink

It looks to me it’s only good to get a case instead of just a box, especially for the price of each box, the chances of getting something worth the price of the box is very slim and you only get a few cards. So I personally think this product is not worth the buy or even the chance of gambling.

  51. Jeff Camp
    Posted September 4, 2013 at 1:41 am | Permalink

I find it a little underwhelming. Although some of the hits were nice on their own, it seem a little to high of risk for $140 o box.

  52. Mark Beckwith
    Posted September 4, 2013 at 1:51 am | Permalink

The product is just basically a glorified grab bag that is quite more expensive. With that being said it was nice to see that Dan Marino get pulled. Overall I’m sure some people may like this product but its definitely not for me.

  54. Posted September 4, 2013 at 2:38 am | Permalink

Interesting product, however, not a single one of the boxes in that case, if resold on the secondary market would get you your money back! I understand that there are some great hits and some of the hits in this break were very nice, but c’mon, at least on of the boxes in a case should be a money maker. Who wants to buy a box from a case that has no chance of getting your moneys back?

It’s a neat product. Living in Montana this is about the only place I would see it. The concept is cool, buying up all different football and repackaging. It’s like the upscale version of the grab bags we used to make for card shows back in the 80’s-90’s to get kids into cards. thanks for showing these on Beckett.

As a college student with a very, very limited card budget, this is the kind of product I can only dream about. The kind of hits in any of those boxes, even the five card box, would set my head spinning and my heart pounding. When I was 12 years old, I pulled an Al Kaline bat relic out of a hobby Donruss Champions pack. Not a terribly valuable card, but I can still hear my own screams of delight. That is the kind of vicarious thrill I got watching this video.

The Alex Karras card was the coolest pull to me, but obviously it’s not particularly sought after, compared to the others. Dan Marino is a legend, and he’s a great ambassador for American sports to have in general. The fact that I got to watch that epic card being pulled was a privilege. The chance to own it is just icing on the cake (not that it’s anything to sneeze at).

Final verdict: If I had 140 dollars to spend on cards at one go, it would not be on this. This is a product that should be priced between 20 and 50 dollars, in my opinion. Still, as a high-end gift (weddings? bar mitzvahs? congratulations on going into outer space?), I have seen almost nothing in the collecting world that parallels this kind and caliber of hits.

Sweet cards and interesting package. If I did my math right there should be 2000 boxes, even at the $140 price, still better odds at grabbing really nice items than some of the high end packs where u get players that never see the field or work at McDonalds by the time their redemptions become live. I will try some boxes.

I really like these kind of Products ( SuperBox, Best of .., etc.).

You can get some really nice cards. Old cards, new cards, a lot of them already graded.

Of course they are hit and miss, but thats mostly every product in our hobby.

The prices of these boxes are high but not too high. As single box still affordable for me.

I think that this product is a very cool product for the fact that it is made from a collector for a collector. Also they just don’t do football, they have baseball and basketball as well with the same concept. The time and money they put into these, it could pay off if you get the right box!!! They offer a variety of years, brands, players, etc…. that you may not normally find in your typical box of cards. Getting graded cards, rookies, autos, to memorabilia like jerseys and helmets. Pretty neat stuff.

This is one of the better breaks of the product I have seen. It’s a great idea but a lot of up and down breaks. You either hit it big or you don’t hit anything. A little risky but what card box isn’t. The payoff could be tremendous as in this case with a sweet Dan Marino autograph.

As a team collector, I’d love to see a product like this for each team. I would shoot the lock off the wallet and get a couple of cases. I thought the Kapernik card was great, even though I’m not a 9er fan(born and raised in Baltimore – Go Ravens!!). I think if I were opening this, I would have been a little more excited to get the Kapernik, the graded Chrome RCs, the G. Smith 1/1, and than the Marino. Finally a product I can open without feeling buyer’s remorse. Usually the best hit you get from a box is a parallel of a second string Raiders lineman numbered to 499. Great idea, great product. Thanks.

I really love the card, I have been a Marino fan since he was drafted and unfortunately, lost in the Super Bowl to the dastardly 49ers. Never been fortunate enough to own one of his autographs. As far as the product, Super Box from SBaycards. I think it is fun watching the product get ripped, however, I think that the baseball Super Box cases I have seen give a much better chance of nailing some major hits. I guess it is really all about the luck of the draw, but I think the football product leaves a little bit to be desired. I personally would have been clinically diagnosed with depression if I would have purchased that box with the five cards. I think the Alex Karras card would have less value than a script from the Webster television series. Overall assessment, better odds and more fun opening sealed hobby boxes.

Very neat product. I wouldn’t mind getting any of these packs…if the price was right.its a lot like leaf best of and Heros.

I also would like to see their store, must be pretty successful if they are doing their own products.

For $140.00 a box your really gambling with your money they. I don’t think i would put my money towards that. If you spend 140.00 then you don’t get nothing that will get your money back is not a good investment.

Decent cards, but a little steep on the price. I don’t think I could ante up for the asking price.

    Posted September 4, 2013 at 1:07 pm | Permalink

A little expensive but the combination of autos and graded cards that you opened seemed to make it worth a shot. I liked the variety of products too. Overall, I’d say it looks like there is a pretty good chance at receiving some good cards to go along with the price.

  97. Zac Dubberly
    Posted September 4, 2013 at 1:13 pm | Permalink

As with most products the value items are exactly that, hit-or-miss. I like the intrigue of graded cards (even PSA graded cards) mixed with vintage and contemporary cards of relevant players AND the possible 1/1 sketch cards. The product’s pricing seems a tad over what it should be set at, yet if they draw in more attention with big hits like that Dan Marino autograph then the price-per-box may not be that far off.

I liked that all the boxes were varied on what was within them, but I believe that the price of $140 is too much for the risk of return here. The Marino and Kapernick were sweet though.

    Posted September 4, 2013 at 1:59 pm | Permalink

It’s a good idea. I think you could get burned with the new players because some of them will be busts. I also think that the vintage should all be graded to ensure the value. It would be great with basketball too! I love the Marino! Growing up in Florida in the 70’s the Dolphins were Awesome and when he got there everyone was so excited when he showed signs of greatness that eventually came to fruition.

The sketch cards are a great addition to this product, especially since you can only them in the Super Boxes. And anytime you can pull an already graded card, that just increases the value. I like it!!

  102. Posted September 4, 2013 at 3:04 pm | Permalink

The Super Box products seem to be a pretty good value for the price. It’s always fun to gamble a bit on these and see what comes out. I assume that the creators of the product try to put the best value that they can into the product. Obviously, ‘value’ can be subjective, but from what I’ve seen, Super Boxes look pretty good. You mentioned that they are about $140/box. That’s actually quite a bit lower than the Leaf versions. My qualm about the Super Box is that many of the cards coming out are not graded. That might not be a big deal for modern cards, but I think there may be an issue on authenticity for vintage cards. Conditioning concerning vintage cards also might come up. And the sketch cards? Hmm, not sure how popular they would be. I can’t see them going for much on the secondary market. Thanks for the contest!

Great product I like the card design and the concept that they were going for, but it is extremely hard to get autographs of that caliber out of it. I also think the marino could have been the case hit in that case Your videos are fun to watch and very informative

A fun concept for the mixed product boxes. A little risky at the price; you almost have to go for the case.

It’s a high-end repack product. It’s going to be very hit-or-miss – although at $140 a pack, things like an auto’ed Kaepernick rookie turn into misses.
The specially created sketch cards are interesting, but everybody can make their own sketch cards. They are rapidly losing their luster.
Not a product I’d put my money in.

  110. Jordan
    Posted September 4, 2013 at 5:38 pm | Permalink

Seems like a high risk, high reward product. Collectors might want to sell early on a lot of these pulls. What if Kaepernick turns out to be a bust? That’s a lot of money blown right there. Sweet Marino though! If only something like that were in every box.

I like the product, but the price point would have to be a lot cheaper for me. Probably about half. I don’t think any of the boxes you opened were worth $140. The box with the five cards was very disappointing.

  118. David Campos
    Posted September 4, 2013 at 8:54 pm | Permalink

Interesting concept that has worked for them in the past. These types of boxes are not for everyone. I was wondering if the Kaepernick may have gone down in value since the cards were packaged if the cost of the boxes was $140 and the card was worth $80 now?

Very nice case, though I am not sure you received full value for your money. However, that should not be the bottom line, I like the variety of brands, years and cards all in one purchase. I would buy a case just to see the variety, well done.

I think Upper Deck scored a touchdown with the addition of the hologram image on the SPx cards. This combined with the addition of an autograph by arguably one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game makes this card a great addition to any collection.

Wow. This isn’t a bad idea. You’re getting hits all the way around. Not all of them are the greatest hits. But it looks like plenty of on-card autos (love the Doug Martin), sweet vintage cards of popular players, rookie cards in mint condition, and of course the Dan Marino card. Better than buying a box of cards for $90 and getting a whole lot of fluff and GU cards instead of autos. As long as you’re not concerned about putting a set together, it’s the hits, nothing but the hits. And another thing about the cards that aren’t autos or short print, is that the cards are graded and in mint or near-mint condition. The savings from not having to have the card graded on your own practically pays for itself. (For example, the Matt Ryan card.) I’m definitely interested in the product for autos, graded RCs, and vintage cards of known players.

I think the idea is pretty cool but with that it’s also very unoriginal. We’re seeing so many of these repackage products today so it’s getting stale fast. They need to put in a chase card to make it more worthwhile considering there’s only a few cards per box and they’re priced slightly more than your average hobby box which comes with the fun of opening many packs.
