The Bo Bichette Rookie Card lineup is putting more of the hobby spotlight on the Toronto Blue Jays. Joining another high-profile second-generation star in Vladimir Guerrero, expectations are high in the years ahead for Canada’s lone MLB team.

Debuting in late July, 2019, base Bo Bichette Rookie Cards didn’t make their debut until the 2020 baseball card season. That means instead of potentially only appearing in a few late-season releases, collectors will have a full slate of Bo Bichette RCs to chase.

And while his Rookie Cards are in 2020 products, collectors have plenty of prospect cards, autographs and inserts dating as far back as 2016.

Here’s a comprehensive Bo Bichette Rookie Card breakdown. It’s followed by highlights of some of his other key early cards.

Bo Bichette Rookie Card Guide

The following list includes only base cards with the RC tag in the Beckett database. Inserts are not. This list will continue to grow as new sets are released. Cards are listed in alphabetical order.

2020 Donruss Bo Bichette Rookie Card #37

Bo Bichette gets the Rated Rookie treatment in 2020 Donruss Baseball. And while the base version is certainly an option, it’s with many of the parallels where things get wild. The large lineup includes several that are emoji-inspired.

Parallels: Baby Shark, Holo Blue, Holo Orange, Holo Pink, Holo Purple, Holo Red, Independence Day, Yellow, Career Stat Line (/311), Season Stat Line (/112), One Hundred (/100), On Fire (/75), Presidential Collection (/50), Look at This (/25), Milestone Stat Line (/19), Artist Proof (/10), Press Proof (/5), Number 1 (1/1), Printing Plates Black (1/1), Printing Plates Cyan (1/1), Printing Plates Magenta (1/1), Printing Plates Yellow (1/1)

2020 Topps Bo Bichette Rookie Card #78

Found in packs of 2020 Topps Series 1, this was the first Bo Bichette Rookie Card to reach the market. And while it’s far from rare, flagship Topps RCs are frequently the benchmark against which others are mentioned. In addition to the many parallels, Bichette has both an SP variation (white Players Weekend jersey) and an SSP (close-up portrait).

Parallels: Gold Foil, Meijer Purple, Rainbow Foil, Walgreens Yellow, Gold (/2020), Advanced Stats (/300), Vintage Stock (/99), Independence Day (/76), Black (/69), Father’s Day Blue (/50), Mother’s Day Pink (/50), Memorial Day Camo (/25), Clear (/10), Platinum (1/1), Printing Plates Black (1/1), Printing Plates Cyan (1/1), Printing Plates Magenta (1/1), Printing Plates Yellow (1/1)

2020 Topps Gypsy Queen Bo Bichette Rookie Card #17

The fanciest thing on Bichette’s 2020 Gypsy Queen RC is probably the pair of sunglasses he’s wearing. As usual, there’s a vintage feel to the set along with some quirk parallels. The card also has a Chrome version (and Refractors) that was included in hobby box topper packs.

Parallels: Bazooka Back, Chrome, GQ Logo Swap, Green, Missing Nameplate, Silver, Indigo (/250), Blue (/150), Chrome Indigo Refractors (/150), Chrome Blue Refractors (/99), Black and White (/50), Chrome Gold Refractors (/50), Red (/10), Chrome Red Refractors (/5), Black (1/1), Chrome Superfractors (1/1)

2020 Topps Heritage Bo Bichette, Anthony Kay Rookie Card #52

Bo Bichette shares his 2020 Topps Heritage Rookie Card with pitcher Anthony Kay. It might not be a superstar duo but it is by design given that it’s based on 1971 Topps and its Rookie Stars subset. If you’re looking for a solo card, Bichette does have one as part of the hobby-only Action Variations lineup.

Parallels: French Text, White Border (50 copies), Reverse Stock (5 copies)

2020 Topps Inception Bo Bichette Rookie Card #57

Pop art and bright colors collide for the Bo Bichette Rookie Card in 2020 Topps Inception Baseball. The style is its centerpiece, which is bound to draw some in and keep others far away. Traditional it isn’t.

Inception is a product that doesn’t have a lot of base cards in each box. As a result, this is a card that isn’t likely to show up in any sort of bulk quantities.

Parallels: Green, Purple (/150), Magenta (/99), Red (/75), Orange (/50), Blue (/25), Inception (1/1), Printing Plates Black (1/1), Printing Plates Cyan (1/1), Printing Plates Magenta (1/1), Printing Plates Yellow (1/1)

2020 Topps Opening Day Bo Bichette Rookie Card #173

No, you’re not doing a double-take. The 2020 Topps Opening Day Bo Bichette Rookie Card has the same general layout and photo as flagship Topps. The only difference on the front is the added Opening Day logo. The back has a different number. Opening Day is a cheap product for casual collectors and retail. The differences are more in the insert mix than the base set. As a result, not surprisingly, this is an extremely affordable option.

Parallels: Blue Foil, Purple Foil, Red Foil, Black Foil (1/1), Printing Plates Black (1/1), Printing Plates Cyan (1/1), Printing Plates Magenta (1/1), Printing Plates Yellow (1/1)

Key Early Bo Bichette Cards

Before the first Bo Bichette Rookie Card arrived on the scene, he had several other cards. Here are some highlights that might not have the RC label but should still be considered among his more important early releases. It’s not a complete or definitive list. A comprehensive checklist of Bo Bichete cards can be found in the Beckett database.

2015 Bowman Under Armour All-American Autographs Bo Bichette #UAN-3 /199

One of the interesting things about the Under Armour All-American Autographs is that they often represent some of the player’s first baseball card signatures. So while this Bichette card is in 2017 Bowman Baseball packs, the autograph is actually from 2015. It’s not the cleanest signature but there’s more to it than the “BB” that came with Bichette’s ensuing autograph cards.

2016 Bowman Chrome Draft Bo Bichette #BDC-74

Bo Bichette made his MLB card debut in 2016 Bowman Draft. As part of the base set, he has both a regular Bowman and this Bowman Chrome card. Both are virtually the same except for the shinier stock of Chrome and the mix of parallels. Bowman Chrome is the preference for many collectors and commands a higher price.

Parallels: Refractors, Sky Blue Refractors, Purple Refractors (/250), Blue Refractors (/150), Green Refractors (/99), Gold Refractors (/50), Orange Refractors (/25), Red Refractors (/5), Printing Plates Black (1/1), Printing Plates Cyan (1/1), Printing Plates Magenta (1/1), Printing Plates Yellow (1/1), Superfractors (1/1)

2016 Bowman Chrome Draft Draft Pick Autograph Bo Bichette #CDA-BOB

If budget isn’t really a concern, the 2016 Bowman Chrome Draft Bo Bichette autograph is his key card to have. As he moved up the minor league ranks and showed some flex in the majors, prices on this card have soared. It’s the go-to choice for a lot of collectors and will remain so, even among his 2020 Rookie Cards.

Parallels: Refractors (/499), Purple Refractors (/250), Blue Refractors (/150), Blue Wave Refractors (/150), Green Refractors (/99), Black Refractors (/75), Gold Refractors (/50), Gold Wave Refractors (/50), Orange Refractors (/25), Red Refractors (/5), Red Wave Refractors (/5), Black Wave Refractors (1/1), Printing Plates Black (1/1), Printing Plates Cyan (1/1), Printing Plates Magenta (1/1), Printing Plates Yellow (1/1), Superfractors (1/1)

2017 Bowman Chrome Scouts’ Top 100 Update Autograph Bo Bichette #BSU-BB /150

Found in packs of 2017 Bowman Chrome, this is an autographed version of the product’s regular Bowman Scouts’ Top 100 Update insert. Numbered to 150, it has rarity on its side. The sticker and more obscure insert autograph status should help keep prices in line compared to some of Bichette’s more prominent early autograph cards.

Parallels: Superfractors (1/1)

2017 Bowman High Tek Autographs Bo Bichette #BHT-BB

Acetate stock has a way of making signatures pop. The 2017 Bowman High Tek Autographs Bo Bichette is no different. Coming along the year following his first Bowman Chrome autograph, the price tag is automatically going to be cheaper. Factor in Bowman Tek’s plentiful autographs and the fact that the line lasted only a couple of years with the prospect focus and you’ve got something that’s significantly more affordable.

Parallels: Rush Diffractors, Tidal Diffractors (/199), Green Rainbow (/99), Gold Rainbow (/50), Orange Magma Diffractors (/25), Red Orbit Diffractors (/5), Black Galactic Diffractors (1/1), Black Rainbow (1/1), Press Proofs Black (1/1), Press Proofs Cyan (1/1), Press Proofs Magenta (1/1), Press Proofs Yellow (1/1)

Available through the company’s website for just 24 hours the day after the game, this Bo Bichette card commemorates his MLB debut as well as his first career hit.

It has 1,892 copies, which is how many were sold during the initial sale window. The card also has additional autograph versions.
