Best Pokemon TCG Ascended Heroes Decks

The best decks in Pokémon TCG Ascended Heroes usually revolve around one main attacker and a small support package that makes it easier to use. Most builds aim to do one simple thing well, which is hit hard as early as possible, keep attacking without stalling, or set up knockouts by putting damage on the board first. Trainer choices matter, but they’re mostly about how you like to search and draw. The combos below give you a solid core for each game plan, so you can fill in the rest of the deck with the cards you prefer.

What are the best decks in Pokémon TCG Ascended Heroes?

Decks are usually built around one or two Pokémon. Aside from that, most decks center around card retrieval, and which cards you use for that comes down to personal preference. So, instead of going in-depth with all the cards to use, we’ll give you some good combos to build your own deck around.

Mega Emboar ex + Munkidori

Building a deck around Mega Emboar ex is pretty simple. Its only attack is Crimson Blast, which does 320 damage in exchange for a recoil of 60. It can tank that damage pretty well with its 380 HP, but we can make that damage work for us.

Munkidori’s Adrena-Brain ability allows it to move 3 damage counters from one of your Pokémon to one of your opponents once per turn. With this tactic, you can start damaging your foe’s bench, and by the time they’re switched in, they’ll go down in the same turn.

Mega Feraligatr ex + Feraligatr + Munkidori

Running a Mega Feraligatr ex deck is a bit more complicated than the previous one, but not by much. You’ll race Mega Feraligatr to your active slot, and place Feraligatr and Munkidori on your bench. Mega Feraligatr’s Mortal Crunch attack does 200 damage plus 200 more if the target has damage counters. The catch is doing damage to an enemy first, so you can hit it with the full 400. To do so, you can have Feraligatr use its Torrential Heart ability to put 5 damage counters on itself, and then use Munkidori’s Adrena-brain to push three of them to an opponent’s Pokémon. Then, whenever they switch a Pokémon in, it’ll already have damage, and Mortal Crunch will almost certainly eliminate it instantly.

Mega Froslass ex + Froslass (Twilight Masquerade) + Munkidori

Another Munkidori combo that works well has you playing Froslass, which keeps Mega Froslass in the wings for a follow-up strike. Froslass’ Freezing Shroud Ability allows you to place a damage counter on every Pokémon with an Ability. You can then use Munkidori’s Adrena-Brain to redistribute those to your enemy’s Pokémon while removing damage from your own. Once you’ve dealt enough indirect damage, evolve Froslass to Mega Froslass and deal the killing blows.

Mega Meganium ex + Meganium

You’ll find that Mega Meganium ex is another simple-to-use damage powerhouse. Its Giant Bouquet attack deals 70 + 50 more for each Grass Energy attached to it. Fortunately, there’s a way to instantly double the amount of Grass Energy attached to it. The regular Meganium has the Wild Growth ability, which makes every Grass Energy attached to your Pokémon provide double the energy. So, just three Grass Energy attached to a Mega Meganium ex affected by Wild Growth will deal 230 damage.

Mega Dragonite ex + Eelektrik

Mega Dragonite ex is a powerhouse, but it does have a drawback. Its Ryuno Glide attack does 330 damage, but requires you to discard 2 energy, which means you’d normally only get to use it every other turn. Fortunately, there’s a quick fix for this.

Eelektrik’s Dynamotor Ability allows you to attach a Basic Lightning Energy from your discard pile to a Benched Pokémon. This combos well with Mega Dragonite ex’s Sky Transport Ability, which lets you switch your Active Pokémon with one of your Benched Pokémon once per turn. So, whenever you want to fill Mega Dragonite ex’s tank, switch it out for a defender and juice it up with two energy per turn, then swap it back in.
