The Trading Card Game market is always shifting with new releases, updated Banned & Restricted lists, and fresh ideas on old cards that bring a new winning element to the tabletop creating dynamic changes on secondary sales platforms. Each week Beckett breaks down the hottest cards in the TCG market.
The Hot List – Singles
2026 Disney Lorcana TCG Winterspell #242 Moana – Curious Explorer
Cards for the upcoming Winterspell release are already hitting the market, and fans cannot get enough. Moana – Curious Explorer has bypassed all recent, and much older, card releases to take the hottest spot on this week’s list.
The “You can ink cards from your discard” ability helps players keep their deck momentum going by letting you use discarded cards for inking. A Sapphire staple, a must-have for self-mill and item-heavy builds and a difference-maker for late-game victories.
The strength and power of this princess, along with her overall character popularity, is making this card a fast mover on secondary sales platforms in Foil and non-foil forms.

2025 One Piece Card Game A Fist of Divine Speed #OP05119 Monkey.D.Luffy SILVER SP (3rd Anniversary Special Card)
There are a lot of different versions of Monkey.D.Luffy A Fist of Divine Speed cards out there, and many with beautiful aesthetics and artwork… the 3rd Anniversary Special Card takes the collection to that next level.
Looking to reset the flow of a given game, pay 10 DON!!, reshuffle the deck and take another turn. Dropping this attack, especially when lining up big combos, puts the opposition on their heels allowing for a new strategy to take the game.
A graded 10 Silver version sold on February 14 for $7,200 while a BGS 10 Gold brought in $11,950 on the same day.

2006 Pokémon EX Holon Phantoms #102 Gyarados GOLD STAR HOLO R
Even after 20 years, getting a Gold Star Pokémon card, especially from the EX Holon Phantoms set, is a highly active chase. This Gyarados combines a little bit of everything for collectors – awesome artwork and mid-2000s nostalgia.
Tapping into how beloved Gyarados is, a graded 4 sold for $1,875 on January 17. Just proving the card is authentic, not a counterfeit, a BGS approved EX Holon Phantoms #102 Gyarados GOLD STAR HOLO R sold for $1,100 on January 27.

1999 Magic: The Gathering Mercadian Masques Foil #326 Sandstone Needle C
Non-foil Sandstone Needle cards are dollar bin kind of finds. Jump up to a Foil, which were rare pulls then and printed differently than current Foils, prices surge, ranging from mid-to-low $30s up to $60 raw depending on condition. Add the collecting part for old-border MTG cards, another collector’s delight. Plus, Mercadian Masques is one of MTG’s classic sets.

2025 Disney Lorcana TCG Whispers in the Well #225 The Black Cauldron FOIL EN
When a TCG manufacturer can hit on cross appeal of rarity, unique artwork, and competitive play value… well, you get a card like The Black Cauldron FOIL EN. Running down sales on secondary sites, The Black Cauldron in one form or another is seemingly sold every other day. But for a Foil EN version, with a pull rate of one in three boxes, values bump up.
Hitting the tabletop, The Black Cauldron allows a player to recall a character card face up (Cauldron Calls) and allows play of characters under the card (Rise and Join Me!).

The Hot List – TCG Sets
The TCG space is highly competitive these days. Fresh off the Lorwyn Eclipsed release, older MTG releases are pushing forward thanks to changes on the Banned and Restricted list and tournament results. One Piece is still riding the wave of The Azure Sea’s Seven set, but two Pokémon releases have surged past Monkey.D.Luffy and the rest of the pirates on this week’s Hot List.
Pre-order sales for the February 20 release of Disney Lorcana Winterspell have rocketed the set to No. 1 on the TCG set list this week.
