For baseball card collectors, a player’s flagship Topps rookie card is often a must-have. So, when the Update Series gave collectors their first flagship look at dozens of rookies, the packs and boxes flew off the shelves. 2025 Topps Update Series released earlier this month, and collectors have been fervently adding rookies, autographs, parallels, and inserts to their collections.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Consecutive Weeks on Hot List: 🔥🔥🔥
If anyone wondered how the Oklahoma City Thunder would do in defending their NBA championship, the start of this season has provided a pretty strong indication. At 17-1, the Thunder are the best team in the NBA, and Gilgeous-Alexander, the reigning MVP, is the driving force behind it. With 32.2 points and 6.6 assists per game, SGA has a hand in plenty of points for OKC, which is averaging 122.6 ppg.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba
Through 11 games, Smith-Njigba is leading the NFL with 80 receptions for 1,313 yards. In Week 12, Smith-Njigba broke Seattle’s single-season receiving record after hauling in eight passes for 167 yards in a victory over the Tennessee Titans. With six games to go, how many more yards will Smith-Njigba gain?

Tyrese Maxey
In his sixth pro season, Maxey is having a huge breakout so far. In his 16 games, he has averaged 33.0 points per game, while playing an NBA-leading 40.4 minutes per game. That included 54 points in 47 minutes during a recent overtime victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. Behind Maxey’s scoring exploits, the 76ers have a winning record and seem on track to stay in the playoff chase all season.

Kon Knueppel
In four games last week, Knueppel averaged 26.5 points per matchup, making his play a bright spot even as the Hornets lost each night. The fourth overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft was thrust into the starting lineup and has fit right in, averaging 19.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. He looks stronger each time out and hopes to become a reliable threat night in and night out.

Jahmyr Gibbs
Detroit’s bruising third-year running back bulled his way to three touchdowns during a Week 12 overtime victory over the New York Giants. Gibbs carried the ball 15 times for 219 yards and two scores and also caught 11 passes for another 45 yards and one TD. He should eclipse the 1,000-yard mark on the ground in his next game, and he only needs six more total touchdowns to reach 50 for his career.

Francisco Lindor
Speculation is flying that Lindor will become the new captain of the New York Mets after the club traded away Brandon Nimmo. The lovable Mets shortstop is one of the top players in the league and always seems to deliver on the field. With a vibrant personality, Lindor seems like a good fit for the captaincy, and many collectors find him to be a perfect fit for their collections.

Jason Robertson
Dallas sits at 13-5-4, and a lot of their success so far has to do with Robertson’s improved play. Now in his seventh season with the Stars, Robertson has slapped in 13 goals and assisted on 15 others as Dallas looks to take its place as an elite Western Conference squad once again. With three straight losses in the conference finals, Robertson and the Stars have plenty to aim for.

Tage Thompson
Thompson can’t seem to stop scoring. With goals in six straight games, Thompson has helped the Buffalo Sabres win four of their last five as they try to turn things around after a rough start to the season.
