Welcome to the weekly Beckett Sports Card Hot/Cold list, where we take quick and fun look at what’s hot and what’s not in the worlds of sports and sports cards over the last week.

The Hot List

Nick Kurtz

Kurtz posted one of the greatest single-game performances in major-league history last week, belting four home runs on his way to a record-tying 19 total bases against the Astros. The power-packed Athletics rookie was already in contention for Rookie of the Year honors, and big-time performances like his 6-for-6 showing give him an even more compelling argument.

Cal Raleigh

Consecutive Weeks on Hot List: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Another week and Raleigh met another Hall of Famer on an all-time record list. With his league-leading 40th home run of the season, Raleigh surpassed Ken Griffey Jr. for the most home runs by a Mariners player in his first five seasons (133). That blast also made him the seventh catcher in history to reach 40 homers in a season, joining Hall of Famers Mike Piazza, Johnny Bench, and Roy Campanella among others.

Cooper Flagg

Consecutive Weeks on Hot List: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

The NBA season is still months away from tipping off, but collectors and pundits can’t stop gushing about Cooper Flagg, the top overall selection in this year’s NBA Draft. “Dallas got a generational talent when those lottery balls bounced their way,” one rival general manager recently said. “That kid is unbelievable.”

Shedeur Sanders

There is an open quarterback competition in Cleveland Browns training camp, and Shedeur Sanders might be the most closely watched player in the mix. Despite falling to the fifth round of the draft, some experts have suggested Sanders should open the season as Cleveland’s starter, and collectors have taken notice by scooping up early releases of Sanders’ rookie cards.

2024-25 Upper Deck Credentials Hockey

The 2024-25 Upper Deck Credentials Hockey set offers something for everyone. With a sizable base set, fun inserts, rare finds, and plenty of autographs, collectors have been fervently ripping open plenty of boxes and packs since the product released two weeks ago.

Sabrina Ionescu

The New York Liberty turned to Ionescu after superstar Breanna Stewart suffered an injury, and Ionescu looked up to the task. The sixth-year guard became the fourth player in WNBA history to score 30 points, grab eight rebounds, dish six assists, and nab four steals in a game, posting most of that stat line after Stewart went down with a leg injury.

Emeka Egbuka

Egbuka averaged 12.5 yards per catch for Ohio State last season, and he hopes to bring his superb YAC skills to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this year. His quarterback, Baker Mayfield, has been impressed thus far: “Emeka Egbuka is an absolute stud,” he said. “He is the real deal.”

Kelsey Mitchell

Mitchell has been a standout for the Indiana Fever all season, and she recently had a stunning performance. Mitchell sank seven 3-pointers on the way to 35 points in a win over the Chicago Sky. The All-Star is now averaging nearly 20 points per game in what’s become the best season of her seven-year career.

The New York Islanders prospect will try to build some momentum for Team Canada during the week, while collectors and fans will watch his performances to get an idea of what they may someday see in New York.

Can I get this sent to me each week? I love it and don’t have time to do the research
