Beckett Sports Cards Hot/Cold List for the Week of April 6, 2026
Welcome to the weekly Beckett Sports Card Hot/Cold list, where we take a quick and fun look at what’s hot and what’s not in the worlds of sports and sports cards over the last week.

The Hot List
Konnor Griffin
It didn’t long for baseball fans to see the sport’s most anticipated prospect get the call to the majors. It didn’t take long for him to make an impact either. Griffin scorched an RBI double in first career plate appearance for the Pittsburgh Pirates after earning his call-up for the club’s home opener. With his early debut, Griffin becomes a serious contender for Rookie of the Year honors — and perhaps a spot on the Topps Series 2 rookie card checklist.

Victor Wembanyama
Consecutive Weeks on Hot List: 🔥🔥🔥
Wembanyama had a busy week last week. Last Monday, he secured a double-double in the first quarter on the way to 41 points and 16 rebounds in a win against the Chicago Bulls. He followed that up two days later with 41 points and 18 rebounds against the Golden State Warriors to become the youngest player with back-to-back games of at least 40 points and 15 rebounds. For good measure, he added 34 points and 18 boards three days after that.

Cooper Flagg
Consecutive Weeks on Hot List: 🔥🔥🔥
Flagg became the youngest player in NBA history to score at least 50 points in a game when he poured in 51 tallies against the Orlando Magic last week. Two nights later, he scored 45 points against the Los Angeles Lakers, surpassing LeBron James for the most 40+ point performances by a teenager (four). It will be a tight race for Rookie of the Year between Flagg and his former college teammate Kon Knueppel, but Flagg is pulling out all the stops down the stretch.

Chase DeLauter
Few players have packed as much power into the start of their career than DeLauter, the 24-year-old Cleveland Guardians sensation. With five home runs through his first seven regular-season games, he now sits second all-time to only Trevor Story for that span. DeLauter‘s home run frenzy certainly has collectors paying attention, bringing his pre-rookie cards from Bowman into the spotlight.

Logan Stankoven
Stankoven is on a four-game point streak after scoring a power-play goal on Sunday. The 22-year-old has modest overall numbers — 18 goals and 20 assists — but he has shown tremendous improvement in his second full season and has a chance to make an impact for the Hurricanes once the postseason begins.

Nikola Jokić
Consecutive Weeks on Hot List: 🔥🔥
As the regular season winds down, Jokić is playing at the top of his game. Currently, he averages a triple-double with 27.9 points and league-leading tallies of 12.9 rebounds and 10.9 assists per game. The Nuggets have won eight straight games, and Jokić has posted five triple-doubles in that stretch.

Fernando Mendoza
Now that the NFL Draft is only weeks away, speculation about where certain players are going to get selected has ramped up. That includes former Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who could end up having his name called as the top overall selection. No matter what team takes him at what draft slot, his rookie cards are sure to be a top highlight in 2026 products.

Robert Thomas
Thomas was named the NHL’s Third Star of the Week after recording eight points in four games for the Blues, who are fighting for a wild card playoff spot. His biggest highlight was his first career hat trick last Friday, which included the tie-breaking goal in a 3-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche. Thomas has 11 goals and 15 assists in his last 18 appearances and leads St. Louis in both categories this season (21 goals, 35 assists).

Maxx Crosby
Though Crosby doesn’t have to worry about where he will get drafted this year, he will likely still be paying close attention until the NFL Draft concludes. After a failed trade earlier this offseason, many NFL experts have suggested Crosby could be traded away in a draft-day trade or a pre-draft swap that includes additional selections going to the Raiders. If he lands on a new team, the standout defender will instantly bolster their chances for W’s in 2026.
