Roman Anthony

Anthony has only been in the Big Leagues for 10 days, but the collecting world quickly responded to his June 9 call up. The rookie Red Sox slugger is off to a slow start (2-27), but his chances at the plate to find a rhythm should increase with the trade of Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants.

Caitlin Clark

The WNBA’s 2024 Rookie of the Year has improved upon her pace from a season ago, pouring in 21.3 points per game and has increased her assists per outing from 8.4 to 8.7. The Indiana Fever are 6-5 on the year getting a big win on June 14 against the New York Liberty (102-88) in Clark’s return from injury.

Drake Maye

Speculation on the upcoming NFL season is heating up with flippers keying on New England Patriots’ quarterback Drake Maye. Maye was a first round pick, No. 3 overall, in 2024 turned in a Pro Bowl season replacing Josh Allen. Maye completed 66.6 percent of his passes for 2,276 yards with 15 touchdowns against 10 interceptions last season.

Julio Rodriguez

Interesting to see the 2022 AL ROY on the hot list even though he has not been tearing it up on the diamond over the last couple of weeks. In his last 15 games, Rodriguez is batting .295 but has zero homeruns and has only driven in two.

Tyrese Haliburton

If Indiana can stave off elimination tonight against the Oklahoma City Thunder, and if Haliburton can return from his calf injury providing some heroics, good bet he will stay on the hot list again next week. Haliburton was limited in Game 5 to four points but has been clutch throughout the playoffs for the Pacers.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

On the heels of being named regular-season MVP, SGA is on the cusp of cementing himself in the folklore of NBA greatness with a Finals MVP added to his resume. Perhaps those Gilgeous-Alexander card values bump up a few more bucks with a championship win for OKC.

JJ McCarthy

The Vikings switched from Kirk Cousins in 2023 to Sam Darnold in 2024 going 14-3. Now control of Minnesota’s offense is being handed over to McCarthy. McCarthy missed what would have been his rookie season in 2024 due to a meniscus tear in his right knee. The Vikings are loaded with talent; how will the former Michigan standout respond to the starting NFL spotlight in 2025?

Leon Draisaitl

The Oilers gave it their all in the NHL Playoffs taking two games from the Panthers in the championship round. Through 22 games in the postseason, Draisaitl had 11 goals and 22 assists.

Brad Marchand

Traded to the Panthers on March 7 from the Boston Bruins, the 2006 NHL Draft pick picked up a ring with Florida helping take down Edmonton. The center posted 10 goals and 10 assists in this years playoffs, adding to his all-time stats of 66 goals and 92 assists in 180 playoff appearances.

Cold

Trevor Story

An All-Star with the Colorado Rockies in 2018 and 2019, since joining the Red Sox in 2022, Story has not had the same pop at the plate nor has he hit for average, even with a favorable stadium like Fenway. Story is hitting .230 on the year, but seems to be finding some of that power with 10 dingers in 72 games.

Joel Embiid

Can Embiid stay healthy? Since being drafted in 2016, he has yet to play a full season with a career-high 68 games played in 2021-22. When healthy, Embiid is as talented as it gets on the offensive side of the ball.

CJ Stroud

Stroud on the cold list is only temporary. A Pro Bowl selection and NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2023, the Houston Texans gunslinger is primed for a rebound season in 2025.
