Welcome to Beckett Sports Card Hot/Cold where we take quick and fun look at what’s hot and what’s not in the worlds of sports and sports cards over the last week.

It wasn’t the most exciting Super Bowl (unless, of course, you’re an Eagles fan), but there’s something to be said for such an impressive on-field display. The team cemented their place in history by not just stopping the Chiefs dynasty but stomping it. A lot has been said about Philadelphia’s defense but it’s on the other side of the ball where the hobby impact is more apparent. Jalen Hurts leads the way. His Rookie Cards are among the headliners in 2020 products. Saquon Barkley’s record-breaking season pushed his cards to new levels as well. His RCs are found in 2018 sets while this is his first year with Eagles cards.

This past week saw the first 2024-25 NBA product hit shelves with the release of Hoops. It might not end up as the most valuable set, but it’s one of the more popular each year. Besides a fresh crop of rookies, the checklist includes lots of inserts and fun designs.

Wednesday sees the release of 2025 Topps Series 1 Baseball. So we’re probably foreshadowing a look at next week’s Hot/Cold.

    Ready for some summer baseball.
I’m a Cubbies all the way. Love them or hate them, great line up with a lot of farm system as a backup when called up. Over 100 wins.
