Beckett Live Presents Weekly Recap: 11/3 – 11/5
Beckett Live Presents closed out the week last night with a deep dive into the Star Company basketball cards of the ’80s, but the week started off much differently.
11/3 BLP: Grad School with Kevin Heffner of Historic Autographs
We started the week off with a special Election Day episode with Historic Autographs. Once upon a time, politicians were absolute rock stars in the States. Hear how chasing Presidential signatures has evolved over time and an incredible story about how not to do it. Also, we take a look at HA’s upcoming release POTUS The First 36.
11/4 BLP: Derek Helling
Mr. Helling is a national sportswriter who never really sticks to sports. However, when he joined Beckett Live Presents earlier this week we were able to keep him focused. Derek’s hobby passion is the overlooked segments, for instance, the women’s leagues that seem to go unnoticed. We talked about releases from Topps, Parkside, and Panini that have all garnered attention from the hobby in 2020.
11/5 BLP: Danny Goldberg
Outside of Steve Taft, there might not be a more knowledgeable mind in the hobby on Star Company basketball cards. Danny was a repeat guest on the Fat Pack Podcast discussing this topic but we wanted to introduce him to the Beckett Live Presets audience. We breakdown what feels like everything we can but there is still so much more on this topic that could be discussed. From key rookies, packaging, distribution, and counterfeits, Danny left no stone unturned.
