Rikk Carlson’s story is a refreshing take on “Making It” in the sports art world. He started with a solid foundation and education in the art world. Hustled and grinded his way through a career, and then one day one of his peers noticed his work. Then everything changed. A simple encouraging word is all it took to drive him into card art, but there is so much more to him than that.

Highlights of the episode include painting billboards in the snow. Artist who have inspired him. A incredible story about sacrifice that you cannot miss. Finally, Carlson’s vision for the next phase of his career. Check out the full Beckett Live Presents: Rikk Carlson episode below.

Parting Shoots

If you have paid attention to BLP in the past you know that sports artists are no strangers to the show. I always ask them after the interview, “Hey, who’s on your radar? Who should I reach out to next?”. Time after time Rikk Carlson’s name was brought up. So, I booked him with a little help from Twitter, and I’m so glad I did.

Rikk has the eye of a photographer and the brushstroke of a genius. He was a real pleasure to speak with and deserves all of the shout-outs and mentions that he receives. I hope you check him out.

Beckett Live Presents: Rikk Carlson was presented by Dynasty Breaks. Check them out on their site where new customers receive $5 off their first order.
