Everyone in the hobby talks about ways to bring kids back into collecting. Rarely, do any of us have a solid proposal on how to make it happen. However, that isn’t the case with Mr. Loyd and his brothers. The team at 3 Bros and a Card Store have created a fantastic way to pull kids back in. It’s fun, affordable, practical, and we discuss it on Beckett Live Presents: Marc Loyd.

Highlights from the show included a brief discussion about his hobby history. The first card he ever pulled from 1977 Topps. Next, a great takeaway about Scholastic Book Fairs. Finally, the current high-end state of the hobby and how 3 Bros operates on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. Check out the full episode of Beckett Live Presents: Marc Loyd below.

Parting Shots

The current state of the hobby is all about high risk/high reward. Big money products are hitting the shelves every week and only the top end of collectors can even seem to afford them. For that reason, everyone else is scrambling for what they can find in retail stores. More often than not, that adds up to very little, if anything at all.

If we truly care about the hobby the way we say we do there has to be an answer to bringing the fun back into it. 3 Bros and a Card Store have done a great job of offering up that answer. Yes, this product is aimed at kids, at an affordable price, and it isn’t going to make you a millionaire. However, do you remember that joy you used to have when it was just about collecting? That’s what this is and that’s why it should be celebrated.
