The September/October 2009 issue of Beckett Basketball, on newsstands everywhere now, features the budding editorial skills of none other than Phoenix Suns superstar Amar’e Stoudemire.

Let’s face it, when a man who stands 6-10 and weighs 249 pounds says he wants to guest edit your magazine, you let him. So we did. We think you’ll find the results to be nothing short of spectacular.

In addition to penning the magazine’s editor’s note, Stoudemire, a four-time NBA All-Star, contributed the first in a series of ongoing diaries that will cover everything from signing autographs to his charitable endeavors off the court.

Finally, the former NBA Rookie of the Year was nice enough — and knowledegable enough — to lend some hobby insight to the magazine’s Best Of 2008-09 cover story. (Meanwhile, most of us editorial types here have spent the last few months pleading with Stoudemire not to quit his day job).

Until you can get your hands on a copy of this must-have magazine, we thought we’d share some of the highlights with you.
