A Look at the First MTG Avatar: The Last Airbender Secret Lair
Recently, we’ve seen plenty of the main set of the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender, but now, Wizards of the Coast has finally given us a peek at the accompanying Secret Lair Superdrop. Wizards has decided to start with a tribute to one of the show’s most beloved characters.
The first drop revealed is titled “My Cabbages!” and it’s dedicated entirely to the Cabbage Merchant, the poor man whose cart of leafy greens is constantly getting destroyed by Team Avatar. The theme is a perfect flavor win, capturing a running gag that every fan of the show knows and loves.
This drop will be available for purchase on November 17, 2025, starting at 9 a.m. PT, exclusively on the official Secret Lair website. It will be priced at $29.99 for the non-foil version and $39.99 for the foil version.

The Cards of “My Cabbages!”
The drop features five cards, each a reprint, with new art depicting a different tragic end for the merchant’s cabbage. Fittingly, all five cards are removal spells, representing the various ways his livelihood gets wrecked throughout the series.
Chain of Vapor
This is the big-ticket item in the drop. A staple in competitive Commander (cEDH) and other eternal formats, this one-mana bounce spell is incredibly efficient for dealing with any nonland permanent. For players looking for a bit of value, this card alone makes the drop worth considering.
Meltdown
This red sorcery is a scalable board wipe for artifacts. In Commander, where mana rocks and other artifacts are everywhere, Meltdown can be a game-winning play. While not an expensive card, its utility is undeniable.
Nature’s Claim
For just one green mana, this is one of the most efficient ways to destroy an artifact or enchantment in the game. It’s a staple in almost any green Commander deck.
Anguished Unmaking
A premium removal spell for white and black decks, this instant exiles any nonland permanent at the cost of 3 life. It’s a fantastic, flexible answer to almost any threat.
Putrefy
A classic removal spell for black and green decks, Putrefy can destroy either a creature or an artifact at instant speed.
Is It Worth It?
From a player’s perspective, this drop is well worth it. While Chain of Vapor is the only card with a significant price tag, all five cards are high-utility staples in Commander.
They are all efficient, powerful removal spells that you’ll find uses for across many of your decks.
The flavor is a10/10, and for any player who is also an Avatar fan, getting these beautifully illustrated, funny cards is a fantastic bonus. If you’re in the market for some stylish and effective removal, don’t let this one pass you by.
