A Guide to the Best Cards from Disney Lorcana Fabled

With the launch of Fabled, Lorcana players are scrambling to implement some of the new cards into their decks. This expansion comes with a number of powerhouse cards that have the potential to turn the tide of a match, and here’s the kicker: many of them aren’t necessarily the “strongest” picks. With interesting card mechanics and interactions with previous sets, these are some of the best Fabled cards to put into your deck.
Ursula — Voice Stealer
Ursula, the iconic villain from Disney’s “The Little Mermaid,” is a strong card. With a cost of five Ink, she has three Strength and four Willpower, but her true utility lies her ability. Dubbed “Sing for Me,” this lets you play Ursula and exert one of your opponent’s characters. There is no cost restriction on this either.
Once you exert the opposing character, you can then play a song with a cost equal or less than that character’s cost for free. Not only does this remove a threat from play for at least one turn, but it allows you to play an extra, high-cost card and potentially close the gap between you and an opponent.

Atlantica — Concert Hall
Lorcana introduced Location cards with its third expansion, and the mechanic has been a valuable part of decks since then. Atlantica — Concert Hall is a location card that costs only one Ink to play and only two Ink to move a character, and with a Willpower rating of six, it’s tough.
This location’s ability, “Underwater Acoustics,” gives any character positioned there an additional two points of cost to sing songs. That means that a song with a cost of six Ink could be played by a character with a cost of four. It’s an easy and quick way to power up your Inkwell.
Simba — Scrappy Cub
With a cost of two Ink and only one Strength and one Willpower, Simba might not seem like the most formidable foe on the battlefield, and he isn’t. However, he does have something else going for him, each time Simba — Scrappy Cub quests, he generates three points of Lore.
If you’re running a deck focused on generating large amounts of Lore quickly, tossing a few copies of this card in your deck will allow you to start building a lead early in the match.
Nani — Protective Sister
Everyone has had a play stopped by their opponent taking out the key card in their Inkwell, but Nani — Protective Sister can help. This card costs five Ink to play and has three Strength, six Willpower, and generates two Lore when questing, but its Bodyguard ability makes it a powerful addition to any deck.
The card can enter the Inkwell already exerted, and your opponent must choose one of your characters with the Bodyguard trait. That means Nani is an excellent shield card and is a way of buying time for a big play if all the pieces aren’t in position yet.
Under the Sea
This card costs eight Ink to play, so it isn’t a cheap move — but if your opponent has a deck focused on low-cost cards, its ability can completely stop their strategy in its tracks. And because this card has the Sing Together trait, you can exert characters to play this card.
It places all opposing characters with Strength two or less on the bottom of their players’ decks in any order. Low-cost, weak cards aimed at questing are prime targets for this ability. With the right timing, Under the Sea can be an absolutely devastating play.
