Top 5 Magic: The Gathering Core Set 2019 Cards – Beckett Pricing Insider
Magic: The Gathering Core Set 2019 has lots of great cards. That said, some are better than others when it comes to playing the game.
Here are five cards that you should be on the lookout for when you’re cracking some packs and why you should consider adding them to your decks.
Top 5 Magic: The Gathering Core Set 2019 Cards
5. Crucible of Worlds
Although a reprint in Core 2019, Crucible of Worlds has not had a real printing since 2007 in Tenth Edition. This is a great time to pick up this card as it is played in numerous formats from Modern all the way to Commander. Currently the market price for the Core Set is sitting around $15.00
4. Scapeshift
Going along with Crucible of Worlds in the reprint department, we have Scapeshift. This card is the key card in the Titan Shift decks in Modern, and hasn’t had a reprint since its initial release in Morningtide. Currently, the card is sitting around $10.00, around a third of the original printing.
3. Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants
Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants has a lot of potential to fit in many Modern Human decks and Legacy Death and Taxes. His -2 effect provides a nice recursion ability for cards such as Thalia, Guardian of Thraben. Currently this card is sitting at $10, but it may be a good time to pick him up as he has a chance to get into many different formats with this powerful ability.
2. Tezzeret, Artifice Master
Tezzeret, Artifice Master is a Planeswalker that could fit into many formats that have powerful artifact decks in Modern-Vintage formats. His 0 skill can be extremely beneficial and the requirement to hit three artifacts can be hit fairly easy in many of those decks. He does sit high on the curve for Artifact decks, but the potential to keep fueling the fire may be worth finding a spot for him. At this time, Tezzeret is sitting around $20.
1. Nicol Bolas, the Ravager/Nicol Bolas, the Arisen
Nicol Bolas, the Ravager is a new Transform Planeswalker. This card brings a lot of options to the table. As soon as he hits the field, he forces a discard from each opponent (a good way to make everyone in Commander hate you, and some love you, depending on the deck they play).
Having a 4/4 flyer for 4 that immediately interacts with the game is fantastic. Adding more value to him is the fact that late in the game you can transform him and either dig for more resources, blow up any creature/planeswalker or recur something from any graveyard. If you build up to the ultimate, you can even win the game outright. Nicol Bolas is currently sitting at $25-$30. At this time, it’s the highest priced card in 2019.
