Since their introduction in 2024, collectors haven’t had much trouble identifying Super Box-exclusive Topps Companion Cards because the set offered an alternate numbering system on the flip side. That, however, has changed, and this guide will explain how best to identify 2026 Topps Series 1 Companion Cards.

In a 2026 Topps Series 1 Super Box, collectors find one oversized Topps card, along with a standard-size Companion Card, in a special section of the box. The Companion Cards have the same number as the flagship base cards, but they feature an alternate image.

Because there is not a prefix on the card number like in years past, this has caused some confusion among collectors, especially for those who didn’t personally pull a Companion Card themselves. The easiest way to tell the difference between the cards is to look at the CMP code in the fine print on the back of the cards. On traditional base cards, the code ends in the numbers 053, while the codes for Companion Cards end in the numbers 575.

Below is a complete image gallery that shows all 16 Companion Cards alongside their flagship base set counterpart. Flagship base cards are pictured first, followed by the Companion Card variation.

How many cards does a master set of Series 1 have….9 000? Go crazy with all the other brands, keep the flagship collectible, not lottery tickets.
