2026 Topps Chrome Black Baseball again lives up to its name, bringing dark and sleek themes to the Chrome product line.
And while much of the product is similar to years past, there are some new highlights that will likely tickle collectors’ fancies.

After changing the product’s configuration last year, Topps has stuck with it. Collectors can expect a pair of six-card packs in every box, plus an encased autograph card.
2026 Topps Chrome Black Baseball Checklist Overview
One notable change comes in the base set — it now runs 200 cards, marking the second straight year with an increase. More than a quarter of the checklist features rookies, who are joined by the top MLB veterans in today’s game.
The design again has a three-dimensional feel to it, using layering and unique lighting effects to grab attention.

Collectors can expect a wide variety from an expanded parallel rainbow. Each pack should have a Refractor card in it. Versions include:
- Refractor /199
- Blue Refractor /150
- Green Refractor /99
- Purple Refractor /75
- Purple Mini Diamond Refractor /75
- Purple Wave Refractor /75
- Gold Refractor /50
- Gold Mini Diamond Refractor /50
- Gold Wave Refractor /50
- Orange Refractor /25
- Orange Mini Diamond Refractor /25
- Orange Wave Refractor /25
- Rose Gold Refractor /10
- Rose Gold Mini Diamond Refractor /10
- Rose Gold Wave Refractor /10
- Red Refractor /5
- Red Mini Diamond Refractor /5
- Red Wave Refractor /5
- Superfractor /1

Select rookies from the checklist also have Rookie Design Variations.
The encased autograph in every box will hail from one of five concepts.
The bulk of signatures are found in Chrome Black Autographs. There are 111 signers — including retired stars — and the ink is again hard-struck.

Returning favorites Super Futures Autographs, Ivory Autographs, and Pitch Black Pairings Dual Autographs are all back again.

New to the product are Paint It Autographs. There is a mix of 19 rookies, veterans, and legends in the set, who all signed in white paint pen over a black background for a striking contrast.

Like the autographs, the product’s insert content has a couple of familiar staples, but there are two new concepts collectors will likely get excited about.
Depth Of Darkness (below) and Nocturnal make another go-around.

New Damascus inserts are a tribute to history. Damascus steel blades have been used for centuries. They are defined by their distinctive patterns of banding and mottling, and Topps captures those patterns throughout the design of the short-printed concept.

The short-printed Home Field insert that became a feature of Topps Baseball’s flagship series for the first time in 2025 will also make the jump to Chrome Black.
